The sequel is on PSP, if you’ve got one. Both are really awesome games, though the representations of both sides are great; There's certainly no "who are the bad guys?!" theme, which is present in most SRPGs - it's country bumpkin bakers who love wildlife vs. I SMASH YOU UNDER MY IRON HEEL AND SHOOT DESERTERS IN THEIR COWARDLY BACKS. Even in the DLC where you play as the oppai enemy general there’s not much grey to it. Still, who cares? It’s fun, that used to be all that mattered, rather than a footnote to the diegetic innovative narrative of empowered accessibility.

It can be edited. You have to bind it to a button though and then click that button after all cutscenes (because they reset the FoV)

    But still, it helps!

Sure thing! Gotta work against FoV-nausea A worthy cause indeed.

Also, I'm playing... Need for Speed Hot Pursuit! I have a hard time paying full price for racing games since they usually can't keep my attention for very long...

Hot Pursuit is quite cheap now so I picked it up. The core mechanics of the "Hot Pursuit"-game mode in MP are pure awesome and a lot of fun. But most of the game components surrounding this rigid core are pretty weak. The anti-cheat is non-existent (yay for infinite weapons cheats...), the matchmaking is terrible and so on. Still, I'm enjoying it!

For 15 euros I'd say it's definitely worth it.

Turns out this is like one of the best action/adventure (God of War-style) games of this generation. It's technically absolutely superb, especially considering it being a first-wave title of the generation — the graphics are quite frankly incredible, polished to perfection and with beautiful art direction. I've also not seen so many NPCs on-screen this generation without hitting the performance at all. The gameplay is surprisingly in-depth and spot-on with regards to how it all slots together. I'd go so far as to say the hack-and-slash gameplay is way superior to that in the developer's next title, Enslaved.

The story is also compelling, the voice acting and character performances are excellent (some genuine LOL moments, particularly with the main villain), and it's just basically a quality game in every regard. The only downside is that it's simply too short, supposedly being six hours-ish for many people — but seeing as it now goes for less than £10 you're hardly getting bad value.

Very good game. Sad that it joins Uncharted as being a game many people missed the first time round due to it being released right at the beginning of the PS3's life when it was difficult to find outside the US, extremely expensive, and kind of unpopular. Even more unfortunate is that unlike Uncharted it never really recovered from that initial shot in the foot.

Any PS3 owner should have this game!

Heavenly Sword was an awesome game when it was released. It's one of the first "next-gen" games.

    Gears 3 beta

Its pretty much use the sawed off shotgun to win, I really hope they can sort that out. Lag is loads better than Gears 2 however which they never fixed.

I totally stand by my opinion. I've played a few games of this type this generation (God of War 3, Darksiders, Enslaved, Dante's Inferno, Castlevania) and I'd definitely say Heavenly Sword is a superb example of how to do it right, albeit not as splendid as GoW3.

Unless you just don't like this type of game I can't see why you'd hate it? To be sure I'm not insane I just checked and the game does have very good reviews apart from length criticisms. By all means throw out some issues so others can decide for themselves though.

I dunno, great game IMO. Intro could have done without the shooting sequences (which fortunately rarely resurface) but otherwise quality. I love the combat mechanics.

Well enjoyment is entirely subjective, but I will take you to task on one point: there is nothing deep about Heavenly Sword. There’s zero mastery to the game at all except blocking correctly, though handily most of your attacks have so many i-frames you're alleviated that responsibility as well. You literally need two combos for the entire game depending on whether someone is blocking or not, there's no room for creativity, and you can't even jump. Enslaved being somehow worse in this capacity is not a sign of Heavenly Swords quality either, given Enslaved’s side-lined game-part has severe input delay.

I personally liked Dante's Inferno more, even if it did putter out in the content department half-way through the game.
