You're unlucky, I was playing BF3 MP for the first time few days ago and each play was fun except that one TDM level that looks like docks/port with containers and one building that looks like a hangar. I was easy target there with crapy weapon, I thought that I'm the only guy that's a beginer there.

BTW Right now I'm playing Syndicate and it's not so bad game as reviews say. Some things fail there but it is possible to like this game (except that glow bloom). It could be a nice game if had few more months to polish... I see that publisher was pressing the team, it went a bit uninspired.

I really want to play syndicate, but no amount of persuasion will ever get me to install origin.

I played a few hours of DOTA2 over the weekend. I came to the realization that I must be the worst MOBA player in recorded history of mankind. Ever.

Been playing some Völgarr the Viking. Man, this game's a bitch! Super old school (including the difficulty) and no BS.

Makes me relive my childhood spending afternoons trying to remember enemies' placement and levels in Ghouls 'n Ghosts.

You know, those games where you actually needed skills (and to know the levels by heart...)

I had split feelings when I started playing this. My political stance leans towards anarcho-capitalism, so the thought of being a politician forcing tax and laws on people was a bit uncomfortable. Still, these kind of games are kind of cool because it explores design similar to Ian Bogost's games. The designer(s) has said he's trying to make it as politically neutral as possible, but of course that's not very viable. To his credit he has included a spreadsheet where you can modify the political logic. I started initially by cheekily decriminalizing prostitution, gambling, pot and hard drugs. Apparently my decriminalization of drugs led to a pandemic where lots of teenager citizens became addicted, although that result is rather unlikely. I tried to remove tax alltogether, but I could only reduce it to 2%. After some googling it seems that it might be possible to disable it somehow.

Despite claiming to be a "politically neutral" game I still think the design exhibits some core political statements (perhaps unintentionally). The game effectively demonstrates why powerful centralized governments are ineffective and immoral. You constantly have to make sure you are appeasing all the different groups (liberals, capitalists, conservatives, parents etc.) when making decisions, which severely handicaps your efficiency. Minorities will be discriminated and the gravity of this is underlined every time you get some ridiculous policy suggestion like "banning tobacco" in favor of some asshole's megalomaniac opinion. The game constantly prompts you to take decisions that impedes freedom and generally encourages you to take decisions that obviously negatively affects several groups, all in the spirit of the greater good of course...

It's interesting because the game is essentially asking you to play with a system that is broken by nature. I also think that the feeling of the (apparent) "power" you have in the game reflects the psychological issue by having such amount of power assigned to just a few people.

...anyway, stuff like this is what makes games so much more stimulating and enjoying than movies imo

caveats: i've only played it for a few hours, so I might have some stuff wrong. also the post might be too preachy, but I don't really see how I can discuss this game without bringing this up.

Yeah, I've been playing Pokemon Y. I'm right near the end of the "main game" although looking at my Pokedex that's still a while away from anything approaching 100%. I've not played a Pokemon game since Red/Blue except for some brief messing around in Gold so I'm not really sure how the game has been, err, evolving. It certainly feels like a polished version of the older games although perhaps on the easy side (although I'll take that over having to make specific squads for each Gym).

If there's some kind of mapcore DotA going on let me know! I actually ended up booting League of Legends last night because it's what people play. Queuing solo in ARTS/MOBA is just a frustrating experience. I used the client as an e-sports TV while I was working so I've racked up some impressive "hours played" but I've only really had about 32 games ((

    Edit: PRO FORMATTING.

    WAAAAR THUNDER!!!!!

Its actually damn good, I can see where it will become pay to win though, basically at about level 10 with a nation you will need 1m experience to level and unlock new planes. 1 million experience is about 100 games if you are top of your team. I can't imagine how much xp you need to get level 20.
