Here's an early Christmas present for some of you;
QuotePC gaming aficionados, we hear you. And today, we are very happy to announce that L.A. Noire will be arriving on the PC platform this fall.Developed by Rockstar Leeds and built to run on a wide range of PCs, L.A. Noire's robust feature customization includes keyboard remapping and gamepad functionality to both optimize and customize performance and user experience. Along with increased fidelity and improved graphical enhancements, the PC version will also feature 3D support for an even greater sense of interaction and immersion within a painstakingly detailed 1940s Los Angeles.
Originally developed by Team Bondi in conjunction with Rockstar Games, L.A. Noire is a crime thriller set in post World War II Los Angeles. As Detective Cole Phelps, players must search for clues, interrogate suspects and chase down criminals to solve a series of cases based on real world incidents. As he rises through the ranks of the LAPD, Phelps comes face-to-face with the corrupt heart of Los Angeles: from fallen starlets to double-dealing police officers and the vast reaches of the criminal underworld and finally, the darkness of his own personal demons.

See what happens when you listen to HP.

Very good decision. I've been loving LA Noire (only doing traffic cases at the moment) but it's very much an adventure game first and foremost, which is traditionally a genre mostly found on the PC. I bet there's a massive audience of PC gamers who'd love to play this, which would explain them going to the effort of porting LA Noire but not Red Dead Redemption (

i think it's especially impressive how approachable this game is. this is actually a game where you could hand the controller to a non-gamer/casual-gamer and they wouldn't get frustrated and give up. the controls still have issues, but the way you interact with the game is really thought-out and simple. the industry needs more games like this.

macnamara sounds like a right cunt

I hate the fact that the game turned out as well as it did. He clearly sits with a lot of confidence because the game shipped as financial success with critical acclaim. Though crunch and unpaid overtime is a general issue in the industry, then this is definitely in the more extreme category, simply shuffling new young developers in as the old ones get fed up and leave.
-
yea, i want to play the game but now i am not sure if i will buy it because i would feel like a prick for supporting that turd.
-
Hell, I bought it twice. I feel pretty silly for doing that with this kind of a shit going on.
-
I'll be borrowing the office copy then.
-
Wow, that sounds... pretty shitty.
It's weird that the game ended up being so good despite all that BS (according to MapCorians/reviews, I haven't played it). With that development process, you would think that they'd end up with something more akin to Duke Nukem Forever.
I was pretty excited for this game at some point, but that enthusiasm has faded over time and now I'm not too interested any more to be honest.
-
soooo since duke nukem forever "failed" where l.a.noire succeed, can we make a statement that says gross mismanagement creates better games?

Isn't this a bit hypocritical coming from Rockstar after the RDR-drama last year?

Sure, but it isn't completely unrealistic that they're trying to make things better on that front. It's probably just PR tho :G
