They are crumpled from when the tentacle hits that area of the walkway

Yeah I get that but the way they've crumpled looks awful and spoils the scene, why is there a gap in between each crumpled rail? It looks silly.

    this.

Pretty sure that's the same in HL2...

Finished On A Rail, don't like the way that was cut... one of the longest chapters which lasts a shorter time than Power Up!

that's some insignificant shit to get all butt-frsutrated over, rails and cuts. the rail section was one of the most boring in hl1.

Yes, as I mentioned. However in HL2 it was more a rare occasion where the player had to dismount to the side, rather than climb up a ladder and move FORWARD onto a platform, which works fine. HL probably has at least twice as much ladder climbing and required jumping related stuff than any other game, so this stuff adds up quick.

I'm going to grab this! So glad it finally got to see the daylight, even if it is only in the dim lit rooms of each respective player

This is exactly why it was cut. D3ads is currently the only person to complain that it is shorter

I don't even remember that chapter yet I remember most of HL1, so it must have been pretty weak. What kind of stuff have we missed due to the cut?

The rails just look unnatural, they wouldn't break like that is all I'm saying.

On A Rail is the length it is because you've got to get to the rocket and launch it, but before you get there you've got to pass through the old rail system and fight many grunts and aliens along the way. It's the first time the military uses heavy machine guns and rockets against you, so you know that they really don't want you to get to that rocket. By the time you've reached launch control, you're half-way through the game and you feel like you've been through a small war. By comparison the next few sections are a breeze until you get to Surface Tension which again, is what stands between you and a major objective; The Lambda Labs.

In BMS, it was over in an hour! Maybe I'm in the minority but On A Rail is probably my second favourite chapter (after Surface Tension, incidentally) and aside from the eye candy, I was very disappointed with the updated version.

I actually enjoyed the rail part of HL1. It may have been slightly long winded, but not by too much imo.

I guess it's fair enough to miss parts of the game, as a remake it's always going to be held up against its predecessor. I can barely remember that chapter so I'll see if the pacing feels off when I eventually get to it (I am shit at games lol???).

So how many people actually managed to get to this platform?! I got onto it by some miracle after 90 million attempts...

I just got to Questionable Ethics, easily the most impressive looking environment so far.. very faithful to the original too.

I got there on the 2nd try. It was quite easy actually. I think you can also get those by wasting few shots with glock to push 'em to conveyor and then picking 'em up. Small trade.

I loved this picture collection! They obviously did this earlier on since it has the old security guard model.

Anyone else have this happen in Questionable Ethics? The hole in the wall model was missing when I first used the laser too.

Restarting the game made no difference, I loaded an older autosave and it was visible again, then I died and it was invisible upon reload (fuuuu.jpg). So I went through again without dying, used it and the hole appeared this time. Only bug I've had in the entire mod though, apart from a couple of random crashes.

Did you unplug the power cord at the wall right next to it?

Anyways, I'm at the questionable ethics chapter now and the end fight was fucking awesome. The music was really great there as well.

    I'm really digging this mod.
