":2bz18s89]You guys are also devs, you should know that this stuff is probably pre-alpha, and the AI was on easy and the player was probably on god mode too.Wasn't very impressed with what I've seen there either, but hey...

Yeah, exactly which is why we get to also nitpick the shit out of it. General audience doesnt see what we see. + We already know this game will be good.

Sounds and looks awesome actually! The reason I didn't pay any attention is because it's PS3 exclusive and I have no access to a PS3. Makes me wanna get one at some point though!

I liked this game, but am I the only one that was annoyed by the enemies and their bullet sponge tendencies? As a result I played the game on easy, causing it to be...well, too easy. It would be nice if difficulty meant smarter AI and not just more hit points. It ultimately was a choice between the game being either tedious and frustrating or too easy. I also found it interesting how a game that becomes more believable, by good storytelling, is also more vulnerable to some of the dissonance it creates. The conventions (?) are harder to swallow when the game becomes more believable. Which might mean that this kind of game design is the wrong vehicle for the kind of narrative uncharted tries to deliver.

sorry if the last part sounded a bit bs. I'd also like to see more exploration/puzzles and less shooting. It's still one of the best games I've played.

I think they sorted that pretty good in UC2 compared to the first game.

Bigger visual difference between enemy types, making it less frustration when some enemies took 10 hits to kill since they looked heavy as hell, and the non armored guys took just a few well placed shots.

Yeah I'd say the combat feels great, myself — so long as you can aim. A single headshot will take the majority of enemies down, and even those wearing heavy-duty helmets will go down fast if you repeatedly hit their head. Then of course there's the insta-kill stealth moves which I tried to use as often as possible rather than playing it like a straight action game.

I love how you can play Uncharted 2 like Gears of War or Metal Gear Solid. If you choose the action route you get a fuckload of reinforcements to deal with, whereas if you go stealthy you still take ages due to all the sneaking and avoiding enemy eyes but there're much less of them and it feels much more precise. I hope they make the stealth side even better in Uncharted 3; it'd be a huge improvement if enemies eventually stopped looking for you and the reinforcements pissed off IMO.

it's funny, i had a class about this, and how important it is for a game to present multiple choices for different people. the spectrum from stealth to action is probably the best example of this. i think gears of war or halo or killzone would be heralded as much greater games if you while playing them could choose which route you wished to go.

I'm pretty sure you get the same number of reinforcements no matter how you approach an encounter.

The new melee stuff looks realy good, I really liked punch-ups and stealth kills when the setup allowed it. Nothing will mix-up dry cover shooters quite like the Vanguard, but that would be slightly out of place...

There's a fixed number of enemies in each area, but if you throw them into alert mode another 4–8 will appear from outside of the playing area. I've gotten through most areas during my second playthrough using only the tranquilliser gun and melee moves, and due to not alerting the enemies there've been far less of them (but it still takes ages because stealth is slow business).

The only downside to Uncharted 2's approach to stealth is you can invest absolutely ages into not alerting the enemies, only for one dick to randomly spot you and then you have to deal with the reinforcements anyway. The whole way through I wished they'd made it like Metal Gear Solid where after a reasonable amount of time they give up and go away again, allowing me to complete the area stealthily.

Ah, I mainly just stealth killed the obvious targets then got to a nice piece of cover and started blasting, so I would've got the same amount. Consider me educated.

I tried to stealth kill as much as possible because I liked watching the melee animations, plus hearing Drake's quips were nice too. And I liked how you could do the same in MP, at least when you could sneak up on an unaware player.

The other thing I really liked about Uncharted2 was the use of 3D space in the level design. Sure, the train level was literally very linear, but at least you could climb outside the windows and get on top. The urban section in the middle of the game was absolutely stunning in this regard, though many areas of the game had great level design. No game is perfect in this department given how hard it is...I suppose the Half Life games in their respective eras (1998 is a different era than 2004 in video game time? Wow...) were great benchmarks for SP level design.

I got the achievement for stealth kills It's still a broken system though, I don't think I've ever played a game that actually pulled off stealth properly apart from maybe MGS4. I prefer the action of a full-out gun battle anyday!

Games nowadays want to have everything... Instead of doing one thing really really well.

I 100% Uncharted 1 because I clearly have nothing better to do. I only played Uncharted 2 through once, though.

The enemies are actually easier to kill on harder difficulties, the only problem is that you are too. It's a lot more fun on Crushing mode, if you don't mind being killed a lot, and most enemies will die from a couple of shots instead of a couple of magazines.

Enemies die in one shot on any difficulty, aim for the head!
