It's still #10. It is the tenth best movie of all time. Better than all the Star Wars movies. Better than City of God. All the LOTR's, Casablanca, Goodfellas, Fight Club, Matrix, Silence of the Lambs, Se7en, Memento, It's a Wonderful Life, Dr. Strangelove, Leon.

When I walked out of the theater after watching TDK for the first time, I certainly felt like it was one of the best movies I had ever seen. I personally liked the break from Tim Burton's cornball rendition of Batman.

Batman is serius business
While I enjoyed the films, nothing will come close to Jack Nicholson's joker and that entire batman film.
I haven't watched Tim Burton's Batman in probably over a decade but when I was a kid, I remember thinking that Batman (Michael Keaton) was the most bad ass thing out there. He still looks bad ass and that entire movie had awesome atmosphere.
I also really enjoyed TDK, Ledger's joker had me thinking he was clearly mental but someone who had thought things through a lot more than others and by using some twisted philosophy, easily justified his world-view created from his insanity.
Christian Bale's "batman voice" was of course the stupidest thing I've ever heard and really broke the immersion when ever that voice came up, but still a very enjoyable movie for me.

agreed ! but really thats just a testament to JUST HOW GOOD the rest of the movie was that "this" didnt manage to ruin it !
The Dark Knight without the Joker character would have been a giant turd sandwich.
However, that character saved it. I really liked it, even though the plot makes no sense and is so beyond absurd. Maggie whatshername a big acting upgrade from Katie Holmes. And Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman had some good lines and delivered them well. No terrible performances, except maybe Batman himself?
But the plot and the bullshit to make it all work omfg. Even when the Joker says he's not a schemer...wtf? He's the biggest fucking schemer in the movie!
Speaking of Michael Caine...
The fact that they casted Joseph Gordon-Levitt instantly raises my expectations for this film.
