Just finished playing Singularity. Nice game, I was a bit bored with all the magic weapons just like in Wolfenstein 2 I was using only basic weapons like machinegun and minigun. The ending was really cool, I checked out 2 of 3 (4? ) endings, nice, cool ideas. I was waiting to be fucked up by that girl as signs on the walls said but nothing happens.

Beat Resistance 2, it was alright but like the first one it was still a bit too scripted and generic. Chicago was awesome though and I love the innovative weapons they come up with.

Modern Warfare 2 is boring me.. too much pro USA bullshit...

Just finished another play through of the MW2 single player campaign. I don't know how it was "too pro-USA." The US got a beat down the whole game, and the patriotic atmosphere is pretty fitting for all the parts spent as an Army Ranger. It would be a bit weird for it to be pro-Russia.

Playing through Metro 2033 now that my rig can run it. Such a pretty game.

Somebody on my Steam friend's list gave me Red Orchestra for free and I just tried it and I don't like it. Now I feel bad. But it's super ugly and tanks are apparently invulnerable god vehicles dominating everything while when I drive them suddenly they're paper cars that explode on contact with anything. A tooltip popped up telling me to aim for the "seam between the tank and turret, or driver's window". But the tank models are pretty ugly and there's not much zoom to aiming with the tank, and none at all with the anti-tank rifle, so I couldn't see any of these things at all. Also once I found a Panzerfaust near the enemy team's base, but couldn't find any near my spawn. Also I totally missed with it and it just hit the ground and did nothing ten feet from the tank, which then shot me.

    Made my day

but seriously, RO takes some getting used to. I never play the vehicle maps, I just load up infantry battles and its a lot of fun, especially with friends... but it is ugly.

Played through Dead Rising: Case 0 the other day. It's quite good. I'm totally in love with the concept of prologue DLC for these kind of games, especially when experience gained in this carries over to the full game. In some ways it also quite brilliant how they almost have people paying money for a demo of the game, but since its so cheap and its a standalone location then it feels more attractive, plus you still have the trial version to check it out.

For these kinds of sandboxy games, this kind of pre-release handling has got to be the future. Especially since Case 0 apparently sold A LOT

Apart from that, playing Fragile Alliance (KL2). Preparing for Reach on Tuesday, pretty amped for it.

Finished Metroid Other M. Aside from some, what I hope, were really bad translations, it's pretty solid. Combat is simple but it's snappy and fun. It's interesting how it's presumably a 3D game but things like hallways still work in a 2D way by always guiding you down the center of the hallway, regardless of bends and changes in direction. The first person view works in the most basic sense. I'm not sure there was much done with it that couldn't have been accomplished otherwise, but the motion of switching between views was cool, I guess.

But mostly it just made me wanna play Metroid Prime.

Back to getting pissed at starcraft 2 until Reach.

Singularity's a pretty bad game, you guys. I don't know what went wrong with it but it somehow manages to combine obnoxious publisher-mandated casual gamer handholding and incredibly unbalanced frustrating gameplay scenarios. It feels like nobody cared about this game. I died five times in a row when the ticks are first introduced, and another three times in a row later on when I had to defend some Alyx ripoff on a train from army dudes spawning from everywhere all at once, and quit. I don't think I'll be going back to it.

Started playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. ShoC after installing the stalker complete 2009 mod, makes the game look soo much better. hopefully I'll be able to play it all the way through this time. What did you guys think of Clear Sky? is it worth picking up? (I think its $4 on amazon...)

Clear Sky has some fucked up balance issues, all related to the fact that faction groups will respawn almost instantly as soon as they're outside of the active NPC range, so you can't permanently take a base: You can raid it, kill everyone, even get the quest reward from a rival faction for killing 'em all, but you won't even make it back to the rival faction's base before you'll see a message pop up saying that the other HQ was retaken.

Also this annoying fucking ass machinegunner in Cordon that respawns the same way and has perfect vision.

There's a Clear Sky Complete mod, but I don't know what its features are.

Other than that stuff though, I enjoyed Clear Sky. The new areas and different takes on old areas is cool. For some reason while it revisits most of Shoc's areas, they leave out some of the best, like Wild Territory and the Bar. The two big new areas, the swamps and the city past the Red Forest for the endgame are both really neat though.

So you only died 5 times and gave up? Comeon games back in the day, I would die 50 + times and be frustrated. 5 times is nothing.

Lol, same here... I just decided I need to start beating some of the games in my steam list. I picked up stalker on one of the $2 deals and just never got to it .

No, I died five times in a row and got frustrated but got past it, only to start dying over and over at another spot later on and got fed up and THEN quit.
