How did you unlock the 1999 mode? Does that up down left etc etc method work?
Yeah. In the main menu type Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right Esc Enter.

Yup, I have several.
Congrats on the release, you guys! I may have to break my Steam queue to play this soon.
started playing this. the intro was really cool. cool story too.. cool stuff. nice graphics...
was a little bit hard to understand what to do later in the game.. but its seems like cool game.
one thing that grabbed my attention was .. so much religious symbolism.. archetypes and artwork.
Ok, I finished this tonight. Started over even (was some hours in already) just for streaming from start to finish, which I did. It's a great game, and god damn pretty in many places. The intro gives me goosebumps. Not trying to spoil anything, but the last 30 minutes of the game ... I just sat there going "wha ... isn't ... how ... did this ... it's ... WHAT?" at what was going on. And the game has some pretty eyebrow-raising moments throughout it too, not just packed towards the end. Play it, and you shall see too. And lets see what the DLC's from the Season Pass will do to flesh out the story and events.
This game is a strong contender for Game Of The Year.
Finished it earlier, what an absolutely amazing game. One of my favorite of this generation~
Oh and watch out for vivi's "thanks to" note in the credits ![]()

Quote from FuryoWe tried. Jason wanted him in the game badly. Copyright and everything made us stay away from easter eggs. I managed to place three easter eggs in my level, called Emporia. All of them are BioShock related, see if you can spot them.
We ran into the same problem
We had to take our hurg out too.

So anyway... I played it yesterday, went to bed around 6:30am, I havent been this hooked in a game for a looooong time. I'm going to reserve most of my comments on it until I finish the game, but I can say right away this is most likely a good contender to one of the best games that I have played in many, many years.
Everything that I have seen so far clicks with me as a gamer in so many extraordinary ways. That fantastic intro, the environments, the mysterious and compelling story of Columbia, Booker and Elizabeth and the original way the story is told, the really well tweaked RPG elements, the smooth combat, the fantastic Level Design and... oh gawd, the graphics! Some of the best colorful and full of life environments I've ever seen.
I don't know man, what I mean is that my jaws doesn't drop so often nowadays with games, and with Bioshock Infinite, it's constantly dropping!
A game like this doesn't come out every day guys, if anyone here is still on the fence about it, which I doubt, get this full price! It deserves every penny, you would be supporting and encouraging more games like this in our saturated industry.
You made Emporia, Furyo? It's by FAR the best level in the game.
I'm almost done with it but it's still way too easy in 1999 mode. I appreciate the ride though, but I'd kill to have more challenge.

I actually don't agree, I am finding the 1999 mode perfect for me. I die now and again which is more than I can ask for, I don't want to die every 2 minutes. It's just the sweet spot where I need to tread carefully and I'm getting a challenge for sure. (I am playing on my big TV with a pad tho, that makes the game instantly a bit more difficult of course, cos the aim is not as precise as it is with a mouse)
I'm not saying you have to die every two minutes (this is tedious), but you have so much money death is not a problem at all. Ken Levine said you'd have to do drastic choices in specialization and all, but I never did that because there's no need at all. You get weapons, money and health everywhere anyway.
I finished the game an hour ago with over 4,500 bucks. You'd never have as much nanites in the entirety of System Shock 2 on the hardest skill setting.
