Early stages of a butcher shop I'm creating, fairly uninteresting at the moment, but all C&C is still appreciated

Got some more work done on it, hoping it'll be an interesting piece when it's textured:

Would using the cloth tool be a good idea for the plastic under the sign?

Sure, but easier and faster is to just make a simple model and assign a normal map. As you wish

That's the plan, I'm just not sure if sculpting the cloth out would be ideal if the cloth tool would give me the same result but quicker. Only way to find out is to try it I guess

unless it's intentional, you've totally misread the second floor. that bay window cuts into the arch (which is why the two side windows are 5 sided) rather than sits outside it. you've greatly exaggerated the recess of that second floor as well, as the abutments from which the arch springs are pretty much flush with the face of the arch itself.

I'm still working out the second floor a good deal but your observations will come in handy. At the moment it's more of a block out of the shapes and proportions.

that is a weird building, did they build the brick part some time after the initial base or something?

I would imagine so, Tanuki, it's making for some odd symmetry in certain places. Think I've got the 2nd floor sorted out for the most part, though I'm not sure if the arch is completely behind the top portion of the second floor. Right now I have it crashing into it... Looking at it closer it does seem to be in back of the second floor.

    Looks good! Cool shop.

Check it out on street view, moving around you can get some decent angles on it. Also the shop 2 doors down to the right (called ANGST? lol) has the same type of architecture, and is less obscured by signs/trees/vehicles.

whats the purpose of this model ? if you are planing on baking normal maps out of it let me tell you right now that a lot of the modeled detail will get lost because it is not BROUGHT enough ! 90° angels dont show up in normal maps !

if its just for prerendering keep rocking !

The only parts I'm planning on baking are the columns, the fabric, and the fancy designs on the brick areas of the building. Perhaps it would be better to simply model out the columns in their entirety for the lowpoly?
