Thats why you require some kind of threshold, currently those games your describing are about 1 in 10, plus those are the games where people on the other team leave because its getting boring.

There's a surrender option in now, Vilham.
New map teaser:

Nice, didnt like that the other maps were on planets, took away that isolated feeling space stations gives.

Gorge Tunnels kinda revealed:

I don't really like the material, but the idea is great. The tunnel is a lot bigger than I thought.
-
Yeah that was taken before the specular was fixed on it.. Silly PR!
-
So, any news on performance?

It's still not "there".
-
i'm still have some great perf at home

-
Well, I don't and my friends don't. It's pretty subjective of course.
-
It runs fine for me too! Just wish I had friends who played it!

-
Guys, could you post your specs, in-game graphical settings and average framerate?
-
Intel 2600k @ 4.4GHz
2x ATI Radeon 5850 1GB in Crossfire
8 GB RAM
Game is stored on a standard Hard-Drive
I'm not sure what my FPS is but I have the settings on full and the game feels very smooth at 1920x1080.
I'm away from home until next Monday so I can't get anything more solid until then.
-
Hmm Puddy you've always had peformance issues, which really sucks. I really wish I knew why your system isn't running it very well.
Admittedly, the game doesn't run as well as it could do.. But it's primarily down to the Lua code used to run the game on top of the base engine. It just isn't the fastest language for it to be running in, and it was only chosen because it's very easy to mod with... But then you have these performance issues.
The coders are pretty much all working on performance issues atm, trying to get it running really nicely. Fingers crossed that at some point, they'll figure out the issue you're having, Puddy, and you can enjoy it properly.
Have you tried playing without AO, and also dropping your resolution by one?
-
I am not ever going to run in a non-native solution (anything else then 1920x1080). It simply won't happen.
But I have tried turning everything to basically zero, yes. I mean, it runs okay. But I am quite picky (I want constant 60+ fps) and every other game on my system runs buttersmooth. With NS2, it's seemingly a bit random if it runs well or not.Using LUA must be great for the flexibility, but at the end of the day it's all about the end user experience. If the method isn't up to snuff, it simply isn't, despite how practical it might be for development. And that's the main reason why me and my friends haven't logged more than 15-20 hours in this game.

My specs:
Intel i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz
8 GB RAM
NVidia GeForce GTX 660
I have ~70-90 fps on 1680*1050 with everything on max. I had the framerate/perf issue that was sneakily introduced with builds 236/237, but it's gone now.
-
>1680x1050
how does it feel to be scum
-
Hahaha. Sadly my monitor does not go beyond that.

-
1680 is for winners
-
1440 is !
-
1920x1080 is the only resolution that exists. Anywhere. Ever.
