I wondered how long before it would become this mainstream. Erk.

Don't worry, Cliff was still the 3rd guest on a show that usually has 2 and a band to fill in the end.

Lots of Gears hate on this forum.

Nah.. I don't hate, just don't really "get" what all the fuss is about, same with Halo.

I rolled my eyes when I saw the blonde woman added to the group.. nothing like a bit of female flesh among men to sell some games...

Yep, couldn't put it any better myself.

GoW and Halo are the most overrated games ever created, especially Halo, which is in my opinion a very mediocre game at best.

I'm waiting for the thorough critical analysis comprised of arguments against games being too brown and grey or having space marines as their main characters. That ground hasn't been covered enough yet, such valid and fresh arguments, lets go over it once more.

I personally found both games better than Crysis, which simply looked prettier.

are you serious? while crysis may not be the best game ever created, it at least wasn't extremely tedious to play through... unlike both halo and gears (and killzone, for that matter)

Halo, Gears, Crysis, and Gow were all awesome games! Nuff said.

You are forgetting that both halo and gow had coop campaign (which automatically makes a play-through way more fun). Its a whole different beast.

maybe so, but like yahthathshazee once said: a game should be judged on how well the singleplayer is.

It's not man, unless your whole game is based around co-op like L4D.

I guess it's a matter of personal tastes. If you don't like cover-based shooters, any campaign with it will feel tedious, no matter how well done it is. I could understand finding the first Gears campaign tedious, but if that's what you think about the second one, well...

well i haven't played the second game. it's not that i don't like cover based shooters either, but i really dislike games that don't balance shooting out with some other activity. i get combat fatigue after about an hour of shooting and get really frustrated playing such games; i tend to go full rambo mode after that (and it usually works, which tells something about the game(s)). games like unchartered did it well, because they balanced the cover based shooting with puzzle and platforming activities; one of the reasons i consider unchartered 2 one of the best games ever.

I thought Gears of war 3 was supposed to run on the newest unreal engine. How exactly does Dude Huge plan on dethroning Uncharted 2 if Epic is using the exact same engine they made Gears 2 with. I am excited for Gears 3 but I thought this was going to be a even better graphical presentation that 1&2.
