I'm looking to get a thread going on where people post about these games, and which ones they can recommend.

So far I know of the obvious Rolando 1 and 2 as some of the most highly rated. I also like Bubble Bash as a quick Frozen Bubble clone and recently got Drop7 from a post in the off topic section

    So which ones are good?

    Lets see....

Flight Control - Its a really simple 2D game where you take on the role of a air traffic controller. They have added loads of free updates and the game is only 59p Edit: [HP] said it first.

Real Racing - This is also from the people (Firemint) who made Flight Control. Simply put its Forza for the i-phone and you just wont believe how good it controls.

Spider - 2D platformer/mystery game. You work you way though an old house as a spider, finding food and getting a little more information about what happened here at the end of each level.

Drop7 is absolutely amazing. I probably ended up playing it for 100+ hours last year. Might take a while before you totally get it, but when you do its really addictive~

Apart from that then Canabalt is pretty good, 1 hand platformer. Also found myself playing a lot of Auditorium and Wolfenstein RPG lately.

I really enjoyed the puzzle game Geared, and I'm not generally a fan of puzzle games.

I dont have too many games but,

Mass Effect: Galaxies, Wolfenstein 3D, Duke Nukem 3d

These are all really fun. Duke has some control issues, and isn't as nice to play as wolf is, but its the DUKE, for .99 it was worth it to me...

Of the ones posted I must say I enjoyed Spider the most, this is the most AAA game I have seen on this platform and it's a great experience.

Since I usually only play on my phone while I'm on the toilet, i prefer simple games that don't take too much time, so i recommend any game from Digital Chocolate. The last ones i got where Gold Rush, Pyramid Bloxx and Diamond Islands and they are great for when you have 10/15min to waste.

Every now and then Gameloft also publishes some decent games, but they also do all the movie, tv shows, and game franchises mobile adaptations, which most of the time are complete shit. So try to look for unfamiliar names, or game genres that are so simple that they can't fail (like card games, monopoly, mah-jong, etc) while choosing a Gameloft game and it will probably end out being good

If you liked the board game Risk, then try Conquest. It's a ripoff but it's pretty good and has many modes/maps.

Scrabble is a good version of the real game. It's made by EA so has an absurdly long loading screen, but oh well.

Monopoly another EA licensed iPhone game, is fairly good. AI is sometimes way to hard or way to easy depending on setting, but another good one while sitting on the can.

    (hmm...this is 3 board games in a row...i detect a trend...)

Brothers In Arms was one of the first shooter/action games I played. I liked it.

Euchre! is a decent card and totally mindless card game that is 99.99% automatic and 0.01% strategy/skill. If you like card games this is a good mindnumbing one that i bought for 99 cents!

World Series of Poker Texas Hold'em is my favorite poker game on the iPhone. This is the official WSOP version. Got my bankroll up to $25 million when i stopped playing. I got it for $4.99 and played it a ton. If you have WSOP fantasies of winning it all, this is another great game for trips to the toilet!

Speaking of toilets, curious about what % of gaming on iPhones occurs on toilets? Has it cannibalized PSP/DS toilet gaming for anyone here?

Might I suggest a sampling on NimbleBit games? http://www.nimblebit.com/games/

textropolis / fishtropolis are the ones I actually play the most, I don't do a lot of proper gaming on my phone.

Words With Friends is a great Scrabble clone that you can play with other iPhone users.
