Trouble installing a photoshop plug-in

    Hello there,

    I have installed this plug-in for photoshop but it kind of seems I have missed something when setting it up.

    I downloaded the plug-in, then followed instructions for installation and I installed the plug-in in the standard folder G:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3

    (the dds.8bi file is well installed and located in G:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Plug-Ins\File Formats)

    I should be able to save as .dds format but this file format does not exist in the file list. The picture is a 8 bit colour image (RVB).

    Any help are welcome!

    Satyre, the problem you're having is really weird. Installing that plugin could not be easier, you don't even need to go to the PS dir and paste stuff in there, just downloading the DDS plugin installer, next next next and it should be it.

    I dunno, try reistalling PS and install everything again, this time without overcomplicate stuff. If all else fails, I'm sure you can e-mail nvidial support and ask for help, or even better head over to their forums or check their FAQ section.

    edit: although it works for some people if you have a 32bit version of photoshop on a 64 bit vista isntallation

    I had similiar problem on Win 7 and I saw that I have two different Photoshop installation folders. First was in "Program Files" directory, second one was at "Program Files (x64)". The shortcut to PS was from x64 directory. I started photoshop.exe from directory without x64 and it runs great (plugin was also in this proper directory).

    I still have the problem even after reinstalling Photoshop... :\

    Are you using a french version of PS? It could be that your folders have different names from the english version and you have to copy it in the correct folder by hand. I know that this is the case for my german version of Photoshop. The Plug-Ins folder for example is called Zusatzmodule in my version.

    Yes, I use a french version of Photoshop. Thanks for the tip!

    I will try this as soon as possible.
