Agreed. I mean CS was _the_ reason I got into online gaming, but I haven't played it in years because it just got too damn boring to play. I'm pretty much done with CS type online games. Mad props to Gooseman for doing his own thing and living the dream. Only reason I'd probably buy this is to support the Goose.

He sold cs when he was young and only wanted to pay of his student debts. He never expected cs to be as popular as it has become. If he knew know he woulda have sold it for a lot more. So he says

that makes sense, but what i really don't understand is how he goes on to valve and doesn't somehow reap some sort of ridiculous windfall from its ongoing success.

i would think that at the very least, he'd be able finance the project himself while living in his parents' basement.

If the deal he made with Valve didn't include any royalties, there is no reason why he would receive ongoing payments after he sold the rights to Valve. Also keep in mind paying the bills for the production of the game, even if the core team is very small and the costs for freelancers is low, is a burden over the development of months or even years. When I hear things like:

That doesn't sound to me like he cut a whole lot of money out of the deal.

There is no way that is HL1 bros. You're looking back at it with rose tinted glasses.

It looks fine and the gameplay videos I saw on lord knows what asian site seemed pretty cool with great animations, but I'm fearing another Korean grind designed to make money in the vein of Soldierfront, Combat Arms, War Rock or what have you.

I know, I'm just saying the bros on page 1 thinking that it could in any way be HL1 are mistaken!

Tactical Intevention game Footage (de gueule)

I think the gameplay could be fun if we add dogs, fire and increeeedible capering, more fun and less boring than cs.

But what a poor design (with dev texture haha) for a promotional (I think) video.

I'm impatient to know a little more

Not exactly how it looks ingame

I wonder what the aim with the game is, I mean, where are they trying to fit in? Right now, it looks like some pure copy of CS...

Well, in its defense, I don't think it's been put forth as anything else.
