Doing some more small maps. Found out how to properly use displacements thanks to this: http://www.interlopers.net/tutorials/30687. Also using some nice composition stuff with the screenshots which seems to make them prettier.

One day I'll make a real map, I swear.

Tackling with a possible theme for a map...

Terrorists must infiltrate a secret government database and destroy the servers to end mass surveillance once and for all.

That would be the T spawn, the idea is that the terrorists found a secret route through old mountain shafts. I might change it to a van, but it wouldn't make sense on a highly preserved base (given the conditions).

P.S - Shadows look a little bit too dark for my taste, does anyone have any idea how to reduce shadow contrast without changing ambient light? (It's the brightest possible)

    It makes corners look rough.

    Thanks!

I've got some more detail done, and whilst the simplicity might be gone, I feel the mood is much better.

And no, I don't know who decided to build all that in the bottom of a valley.

Working on my first CSGO map, based in Bruges, Belgium. Just playing around and experimenting so far, nothing fancy yet.

    Hi Mapcore!

Long time reader here but never actually posted something.

Started with a small sci-fi corridor scene today.

I just moved in to Belgium a month ago!

You got yourself a great theme to work with.

It's pretty rainy here, so you could work with that in mind as well.

I was going to do de_dinant, but since I have to work with other projects I have i scratched it.

Here's what Dinant, Belgium looks like in real life!

This can give you some ideas.

I'd just like to add I've been to Bruge. Yup.

Also, would love to see a UK town selected from the Shit Towns books for a map idea, just to prove we can hold our own.

    *Not implying Bruge is shit

Would be great if you'd include the Belfort in it btw!

    Hey,

It does not have to do with the current discussions but do anyone have an idea about how to solve the issue of the sniper angle which is too good?

    ()

The following pictures are to help figure how the current layout is,

I'm desperate I do not find a way that would be coherent with the rest..

Thanks in advance, hope I'm not bothering!
