It looks awesome, I just wish you didnt make it at night so we could see all the details ![]()

Now that we've seen night and day I agree with JP, night hides all the neat little details
-
I prefer the night. Far more atmospheric and appealing to my style. My only moan is that the blue is a touch too strong, looking at it for more than 5 seconds started to make my eyes ache a bit.

-
Or you could do what I might do with my DoD:s map, and release both a night and day version.

You map very fast and its a bit scary, but maybe... slow it down? Your brushwork and texturing while much improved from what we last saw could still use a bit of extra time on each building and some more thought put into individual areas. Like the foot ramp in this shot: http://www.albatros44.de/soviets/sov5.jpg which is basically just one big block with a concrete texture applied.
What else can he do with a structure that looks like 'one big block' of concrete in real life?

What kind of a goofball question is this? There is always detail to add, to anything.
If you can't see why detailing a large solid single textured cube is important I'm not sure you'll even be able to read this post. But I wont assist you in shitting up the thread either, if thats your goal
This is a holy place.Quote from SnipaMastaHow about actually answering it rather than dodge around it? It's a solid block of concrete with a slope - aside from a rail there's nothing you can add.
No buddy, no dice

You just said there was nothing to add and then two posts down changed your mind and added "other than a rail"... see why it was a stupid conversation to try to bait? Good.

Got some more done.
Every floor of every house on the bridge will be enterable
-
i think this looks nice but certainly lacks of greenery. i'd make a paintover for you to show you how to improve it

-
It looks good.
a little 3 minute paintover, if you get the general ideas

Also, if I were you I would play with 1) color correction 2) building textures or 3) lighting to try to match the map to a one or two color in order to kind of create a vibe and a mood for the map overall. You could leave everything just standard daytime, but I think saturating the lighting would give the map alot more personality and help it "glow".

that last screenshot looks like the subway station from 'the matrix'
-
well, it is the subway station from the matrix.

Nice name, Darth_Brush.

I think your map would look much better with less blend lighting and some more trash lying around!

Tomato, center that couch more with the window so it dosn't look so cluttered with the other models.
The roof of the house really kills the scene. You know in DODS, how they make their roofs using displacements. You should do the same for your roof, or add some brushwork to the rims of the roof and pull it down to make it look old and worn or something.
oh and a couple of chimneys
would help bring it to life. -

This is a holy place.I can't figure out what else could be added. That's what they look like in real life. Do an image search and you'll see that loading docks tend to be just blocks of concrete without any bling bling.
The only person who's shitting up the thread is you. You attacked SnipaMasta for a perfectly reasonable comment and didn't explain how the ramp could actually be improved, even when SnipaMasta specifically asked you to.

Small update on the forest map i've been working on, been optimising for the past week or so and just started on the visuals again. I've been exploring the night setting a bit more playing with placing fires around the map to help guide the player a little better and adding more volumetric fog in areas. You might notice that the river is also now complete. I just need to do some more detailing on the riverside itself.[Blocked Image: http://www.littlelostpoly.co.uk/PVT/Misc/De_forest/de_forest_001e_compile0000.jpg]

This is a holy place.Plenty of footramps don't have rails. I think it looks nice as it is, frankly. And judging by your post it's not me that's trying to shit up the thread.

Darth_Brush: I quite like the atmosphere in your shots, but I think some of your detail is a bit too clunky. The poster boards are probably the biggest culprit - you could really do with revising the design of those to look a little more subtle and less bulky, and preferably modelling them. The big block currently looks like a load bearing pillar or something, but they obviously aren't since they are spaced to suit advertising rather than structural integrity
Make them look more like additions to the basic architecture. That doesn't mean you can't add in some pillars that ARE part of the basic architecture however, but at the moment they don't seem like one or the other. -
Looks incredible Rob, but with all that art, won't the performance be brutal for multiplayer?
I did like the orange/yellow daytime theme better; looked a lot more realistic. Right now It looks like World of Warcraft, but still fucken sweet.
