Yeah, this thread is definitely more geared towards "Games YOU think are underrated", but I guess that easily becomes "Your favorite game that no one likes quite as much as you" ![]()

come to think of it, it's kinda odd. this and jetpack might just have had the greatest influences on me when it comes to design.

So manly.
Quote from insta[Blocked Image: http://www.imfdb.org/images/1/14/Ssgame.jpg]It's a turnbased squad game set just after WW2 in an alternate history or something like that. It had fully destructible enviroments, ragdolls (that was major back then!) and lots of other cool shit. It's sort of like UFO Xcom, with nazis and ragdolls.
Rezzing this thread to say I just got this game and installed it today, and I've pretty much played it non-stop. It's totally fucking awesome. It seems to hit every note I appreciate and love in a good PC game, alternating quicksave and autosave slots, as well as save anywhere, fully destructable environments that actually look cool as they blow up, fragmenting in realistic ways and exposing underlying boards and brick and shit, hard as balls, but fair, with pretty forgiving penalties for losing or getting your dudes shot up (as long as they don't outright die when they're shot down, and you carry them off the map at the end, they'll make it and spring back), neat and occasionally damn funny quips the guys say as they move around, shoot at people, see enemies, and get shot (my favorites are my guy yelling "Progress!" at random intervals, and the Russians saying "It's a bad day to not be a religious..." as they're about to die), and the best feature- no reload when you restart a mission! It just instantly resets the map and puts everything back the way it was at the beginning!
Really, really good fucking game so far. I'm still kinda getting used to some of it, like how frag grenades behave "realistically", shooting out anti-personnel pellets instead of just creating an explosion that can damage the environment, but so far I'm completely loving it.

Deserves a 8.5 at least!

Kind of shitty if you're a Thief 1 + 2 vet, but the Shalebridge Cradle level in Thief 3 is among the greatest levels ever made for any FPS in recorded history.

Definitely, I really enjoyed it and thought it was awesome.

reaaaaly gotta get this one a go. lemme check steam... if not, I'll just order from amazon. I bet It's shit cheap
oh man, thief 3 is spot on. in fact, the entire thief series and their goddamn awesome atmospheres should be in this thread.
Just checked the price, thief deadly shadows, 20€ on steam. 4.74 Euros on amazon.co.uk.

Didn't you know? Steam is roughly 50% more expensive than a regular shop. Tis lame.
And the only good thing about thief 3 was it had a good team of level designers. The rest of it made me throw the disc away.

One of my initial inspirations for level design. Loved the street levels!

Fuck yeah, Kingpin's crazy ghetto/gothic/bladerunner design was awesome.
It wasn't underrated though :s
well, back in the days, I didn't really knew what was underrated or not. If I saw a game that appear to be decent, I'd give it a go. I loved Kingpin, and none of my friends knew it...
and yeah, what mazy said
Kingpin was totally underrated, back when it first came out it was absoloutely shit on by most press, and sold nothing. What other definition is there ![]()
