It's out now and no one's mentioned it yet. I'm noticing a lot of negative reviews around and I never realised the film was a PG-13.. wtf? Anyone seen it?

I'm going to see it someday, with Drag Me To Hell.

I loved T1 and T2 (especially the first because of Michael Biehn!), didn't like T3 though.

    I saw it last friday.

    The movie was filled with action and clichè quotes;

    Quote

at one pont bale actually sais "I'll be back"

I like the movie tho, overall it was decent action and Sam Worthington did an excellent job in this movie. Bale on the other hand disappointed, its like he's not putting his heart into it.

So up until nearing the ending this movie was a 5~6 on the imdb scale. But then Arnold showed up...

    Its a clear 7.

Bale really shouldn't make big budget movies. He is one of the best actors of his generation but he only shows it in the small movies.

yeah just like Robert Downey Jr, Edward Norton, Jean Claude Van Damme, etc...

Or maybe its just the big budget movies that are so filled with cliches and lame scripts that the great actors seem mediocre even if they to their best.

Bad OST, cut scene only avaible on the dvd, wrong end, mistakes such as Conor, the terminatorbikes and the USB and so much more... = Bad movie!

    Just came from the cinema...

overall good movie, well it had some predictable cliches, and some plot holes as well. But the fx were there, lot's of bad ass bass noises that give you the chills, etc.

It sure was better than T3, and I guess it was a nice and refreshing reboot of the Terminator universe.

    Go see it!

i thought it was entertaining, but it just wasn't a terminator movie, especially since

    Quote

it didn't have arnold outside some poor CGI, and arnold is the terminator

. plus, while the terminators in the other movies had one motive: to kill john connor and do it at all costs, in this movie they're just not trying anymore and all of skynet has one single terminator with a machine gun to protect the city. the first two movies might not have made that much sense but they're classic action movies, t4 wasn't bad but it's just another standard action movie like every other that gets made these days (except rambo 4).

I heard about the sequel of T4... Sounds like scriptwriters were drunk of whatever I don't know but plz don't shot this crap!

    Quote

"I strongly suspect the next movie is going to take place in a [pre-Judgment Day] 2011," McG reveals. "John Connor is going to travel back in time and he's going to have to galvanize the militaries of the world for an impending SkyNet invasion."

    Quote

"They've figured out time travel to the degree where they can send more than one naked entity. So you're going to have hunter killers and transports and harvesters and everything arriving in our time and Connor fighting back with conventional military warfare, which I think is going to be fucking awesome. I also think he's going to meet a scientist that's going to look a lot like present-day Robert Patrick [who famously played the T-1000 in Terminator 2], talking about stem-cell research and how we can all live as idealized, younger versions of ourselves."

What the matter between cell research and metal!? Hugh! I miss something!

3/4 was good. but the last 1/4 has controdicted everything said at the end of T3

    Quote

At the end of 3 said skynet was a software and cant be destoryed so what the fuck was them attacking skynet for everything said in 3 seems to have been advoided i think 3 was better than 4 but some nice seens in 4 such as the start.

Skynet is a satelite based AI as far as I know.

Ok so I've seen this trainwreck of a film, thankfully I only paid £3 for it because I had a voucher. Not gonna bother with spoiler tags, there's nothing worth spoiling.

    Good:

    - CGI Arnold looked fantastic, I mean.. you could tell it wasn't real but it was really well done.

    Bad:

    - The Terminators capturing humans... but why? Who knows, never explained. The way they're captured made me think it was a rip-off of the recent War Of The Worlds with Tom Cruise. They're terminators for fuck's sake, their purpose is to eliminate the human race, not capture them and hold them prisoner.

    - No chemistry between Katherine and John, I didn't even know it was Miss Brewster until I looked in the official guide book in HMV :/ All of the characters were cardboard cut outs, even Bale sadly.

    - In the first film, Kyle tells Sarah that the resistance stay low during the day and only come out to move around at night, so what the Hell were they doing leading an assault on a Skynet bunker during the daytime? Lame.

    - Remember in the intro to the original films there was a huge tank like HK driving over thousands of human skulls? Remember also that the endoskeletons were fighting the humans with laserguns? None of that here, the nightime sequences didn't even feel like a post apocalyptic california.

    - Terminator motorbikes? What the fuck? When they emerged I instantly thought of Transformers, *facepalm*.

    - How the fuck does Skynet know that Kyle is John Connor's father?! None of the original terminators ever found that out and relayed it to Skynet, obvious huge plot hole is obvious.

    - Terminator Human hybrid was just shit and how the Hell did Cyberdyne systems know how to build such a thing? Skynet only learnt how to replicate the T-800's to look like humans after Judgement Day happened.

    - What was the point in playing Guns & Roses "You could be mine" when Connor was hacking the terminator bike? Some sort of cheap nostalgia gimmick? Utterly pointless.

Didn't feel like Terminator at all, complete drivel that gets a big hairy 1 for me, and that's just for the CG Arnie.

I planned on going to see this movie only for Arnold CGI really. But i'd much rather check this clip out on the internetz.

He used the radio as bait for the bike-terminator.

Yeah it was a good action movie with some very cool scenes, but the story was weak and Conor breaking in skynet was a joke. Where are the motion detectors/lasers/turrets?

    Quote

Also, why doesn't skynet shut Marco down after he has fullfilledhis purpose instead of letting him go bezerk and helping connor in the end?

What does that mean, satellite based AI?

It was explained. Kind of. The whole thing was a plot to lure bale into skynet (to rescue his soon-to-be-father), and then skynet could kill him.

    Quote from D3ads

No idea how you missed that when he called her his wife at his deathbed.

This was also explained rather early in the movie. The terminator HK's hunt better at night because of their infrared vision... Makes sense to me. If they hadn't done it this way because of something that was stated in the first movie then I think a lot of idiots would ramble on about the terminators beeing lame, not having infrared vision.

    Quote from D3ads

This movie is a lot earlier in the timeline than what you are remembering from those scenes, so no, lasers wasnt invented yet.

    Quote from D3ads

    - Terminator motorbikes? What the fuck? When they emerged I instantly thought of Transformers, *facepalm*.

Except they didnt morph and was basically just a motorbike with guns attached, not that hard to believe existed given that skynet had planes, walking robots and swimming monsters.

    Quote from D3ads

Lol, how do you know that skynet couldnt ever possibly have known this? In the first movie the terminator is sent back to kill Sarah connor, John connors mother. How did it know then that Sarah was his mother? I mean, comeon, do you need everything explained?

    Quote from D3ads

    - Terminator Human hybrid was just shit and how the Hell did Cyberdyne systems know how to build such a thing? Skynet only learnt how to replicate the T-800's to look like humans after Judgement Day happened.

Did we watch the same movie? The movie is set right after Judgement day, and following your own logic they just learnt how to replicate the t-800's to look like humans...

I have to say, I found Terminator: Salvation pretty good. I didn't like how contrived the whole ending sequence felt, but overall I certainly enjoyed the film.

I can't actually think of how the post-nukes world of Terminator could be better depicted to be perfectly honest. While some of the plot points were questionable, I think there's a lot more good than bad there.

It's certainly a much better film than Terminator 3, whatever the case — and I quite enjoyed that too. Maybe I'm not too fussy about my Terminator.
