    enjoying this game a lot so far. the difficulty has been perfect for me and the levels have been very satisfying creatively. I like how I can die/fail and try again to do another completely different approach. I keep discovering emails/flashbacks but I have no idea how to view them. And for some reason my sound during cutscenes is really weak.

    also; the protagonist is really good at swimming, he must be swimming at like 30 mph.

    Giving it a quick go now. First thing I had to do though was type in cl_fov, god damn guys it's set at 55! At least you made it easy I suppose.

    Going back and replaying levels (to grab missed collectibles) is nice when you retain all the upgrades found throughout the game. Doing first few missions with stealth enhance, gauss attachment, etc

    Someone made an app that doesn't do what it's supposed to do, but might in a new update.

    Does Crysis 2 not have proper configuration of graphics settings in the GUI then?

    Nope, only preset settings.

    Strange. I can see the logic behind hiding the advanced stuff and primarily using pre-sets, but taking out all ability to manipulate advanced shit via GUI is blatantly going to be an annoyance for enthusiasts, particularly with the platform fragmentation of the PC meaning a single advanced setting can make a big difference depending on your hardware — certainly was the case with Crysis 1.

    To make the app posted earlier disable blur and such properly you have to manually open the CFG it creates and cut/paste the sys_spec options before the other ones.

    I went from this

    Code
    g_skipIntro=1

    cl_fov=65

    pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov=65

    i_mouse_accel=0

    i_mouse_accel_max=100

    i_mouse_smooth=0

    r_motionblur=0

    g_radialBlur=0

    cl_zoomToggle=1

    r_UseEdgeAA=0

    r_TexMaxAnisotropy=16

    Just finished it. This is one of those rare games where I found the last half of the game way better than the first. The first 5 or so hours I constantly felt that it had sweet level layouts and mechanics to support it, but every firefight felt like it never reached its potential. Not sure if it's strictly down to the enemy types, but unlike the first game then I sooo preferred fighting the aliens in this one. Unlike the human enemies, the firefights actually started getting intense and unpredictable in the best possible way, really forcing you to use all the suits abilities.

    The first couple of hours definitely look the best, and seem like they got the most visual polish, but the human enemies just weren't that much fun to fight. Had so many moments where I'd stand around a corner and just shoot dudes that kept walking through a door in the first half of the game, but whenever I tried that trick on the aliens it usually didn't work cause they flanked me and kicked my ass. The only exception with the human enemies would probably be the military base island thingy.

    Oh and the plot was just a complete joke, but whatever, if it gets you from fight to fight then so be it. Also I'd like somebody to count how many times "Alcatraz" is mentioned in this game

    But overall I quite enjoyed it, just wish the aliens enemies had been introduced earlier (or maybe that the humans had jetpacks or something )

    When I first started playing I was on the hardest difficulty, after playing through a bit and having to redo the same checkpoints over and over due to insta-kills, I lowered the difficulty level and could really start to enjoy the game. Graphically as I said before, it looks great and it also plays great. I have everything bumped up to the max settings in my Nvidia control panel as well as the edits to the cfg file.

    I was skeptical that this game would ever feel like a Crysis game, thankful I was wrong. Going from lush jungles to skyscrapers was a big hurdle for me in this regard, now that I'm blasting alien guts with my shotgun, it's starting to feel like Crysis again.

    The suit is cool, I love the module aspect of it and armor mode really makes you feel like a walking tank. Speed mode always being on is something I'm not found of. I can't even run when my suit has zero energy which usually results in my death trying to reach cover as quick as possible.

    Hopefully we can mod Crysis 2 because that's something I'm itching to do once I finish.

    $60 is a lot of money to spend on a game, from my experience so far, it looks like it'll be worth it
