I don't think that Skyline is quite that bad. The tall building in the center breaks up the sightlines fairly well, as opposed to Pier where you can see almost from one side of the map to another from most points, with exceptions like the mall and shops around the edges and the wrecked ferry in the middle. And in Skyline you have the gym area in the middle building which you can stick to in TDM if close quarters is more your style. No avoiding the open areas in the capture the pod mode though, and there doesn't seem to be much in the way of cover around those pods, it's pretty much hope the enemy doesn't show up, because you're going to die. And the pods seem to be grenade magnets, and one in the cap zone radius will clear it out. It might be better with actual teamwork, with one or two people capping while the others take up more defendable positions.

You still have to be on a swivel the whole time, since people can jump down from pretty much anywhere. I haven't really gotten the hang of it yet, but sometimes I fall in a single shot, where it seems I can empty a magazine into a dude before he turns around and one-shots me. Can't tell if that's just lack of skill or selective memory, or something else. I'm mainly using the armor module, too.

pop armour only when you see the enemy and start taking rounds. always go for the head, anywhere else = you lose they win.

Yeah, head shots seem to be key, if the number of times I see that bad ass slowmo just before my brains get splattered is any indicator.

Eventually it got to the point where I and most other people knew every Counter-Strike map inside out, and matches became little more than going through the motions and whichever team had the fastest and most accurate twitch skills (usually me ) won.

This is why I prefer BF to Crysis/COD/CS/etc. Though, there is something to be said for player skill being the decider of map flow ofc, but personally only for small team games. I love L4D2 versus and play in games using comp rules/mods, and those maps are very small and mostly static except for NPCs and the enemy team's performance and behavior.

The other day my team was down 700 points going into the second to last map in Parish and managed to pull out a win. In map 4 we had an early tank and beat down the other team while easily managing theirs, making it all the way to the parade float panic, and in the finale we made it to the tank (~75%) while on their run managing to pull off a four cap at the first hole in the bridge. We won by 15 points out of ~1600 on both sides and it was the most incredible feeling of victory I've ever had from an online game.

Looks like someone broke street date and it's in consumer hands. Some guy confirmed it doesn't have the editor in it. Sadly, that was the only reason I wanted to buy it..

Other people mentioned a day 1 patch that could be the release of the editor, but apparently it was on a live stream or something so nobody can source it.

I don't think Crytek are dumb enough not to release the editor. Relax.

    ah ah, chris! <3

So yeah guys, this is it, we launch today in the US and in a couple of days here in EU.

My first big title on the shelves, it's one hell of a feeling and I'm very proud of what we achieved. We'll see what the future brings now...

I knew you guys could make a great game, so I'm especially happy about EA really committing to the title as well: music by Hans Zimmer and B.o.B., many different trailers, ads on TV and Times Square. I hope this will translate to great sales, too!
