    But if we Europeans have the ability to download the game before it hits the stores, I guess a lot of people will just download it instead, since they don't want to wait for the release date.

    HR has gotten to a point of overuse though, even games like Resident evil, that were all about micro managing health and ammo, nowadays are all about... god knows what.

    Either I'm getting old fashioned, or the industry is walking backwards. Either way, I got back to my Quake3 again, and I'm enjoying the shit out of it. Pickable health ftw

    About the delay, it's obviously they did it because of piracy. But I'm definitely not getting MW2 for consoles! We devs should know better....

    A download isn't necessarily a loss of a sale. If a game is out earlier on torrent sites then in stores people who plan to buy it will get it, but still buy it when it's released. Isn't MP the best anti piracy measure?

    Does anyone have experience with cracked servers of wow, cod, bf etc... From what I've read they suck. The second best measure is good support and reasonable behavior. Piracy has put consumers in a much more powerful position where purchasing decisions are often not based on the need to play that game as you can do that for free but rather the will to support a company, and you don't have much will to support companies that behave bad towards you.

    I think it's a little disrespectful to be talking about downloading the game when ComposiTe posts here guys, I mean I get where you're all coming from but come on.

    The only reason I wouldn't buy this game is if it uses fucking SecuROM, if it uses Steam I'll just crack it and go from there, DRM is pointless. I'm hoping for a DVD check, couldn't care less if I need to put the DVD in the drive everytime, less than minimum effort.

    But D3, things like this need to be discussed. MW2 is probably going to sell gazillion copies, hell, I could even mail my opinion to IW\Activision, but then there wouldn't be no reply, and the whole discussion would go un-noticed. Delays in some parts of the world will result in more downloads in the actual areas, especially when a so large amount of people are too pumped to wait for it. An Batman styled thing could at least work for SP, but come on, you'll play SP once, maybe twice, then MP for a couple of years...

    I'm buying it, for sure, and even a couple of weeks could kill some bugs etc. so a regional delay isn't only bad, but I'd rather have the game on release day and live with some bugs for a few days...

    I'm not condoning the piracy issue here, I'm just saying that its a total lame act of delaying it on the pc as an anti piracy measure.

    Because it will have zero impact on the piracy. I see releases of cracked 360 games on torrent sites all the time, why didnt 360 get postponed two weeks as well?

    Just to touch on this; I don't think it matters WHO posts here, we should not condone pirating games. Piracy is not the big bad guy it is made out to be, I think bad marketing accounts for more loss than piracy but that is another discussion.

    I will definately be buying MW2, look at it. It is fucking dripping in quality. The SP story looks mondblowingly good. Along with a co-op side story? Fuck yes sign me up for that shit mother fucker.

    And on top of that, a multiplayer which is rivalled in quality, features, and replayability by a very few number of games.

    IW have reached a fucking great point in their lifetime and even though they're taking the fucking piss when it comes to pricing the game (I'm sure this is more down to Activision, I hope..) I'll be buying this the second I can; and I haven't even pre-ordered L4D2 yet ;D

    Composite, could you please pass this comment on to the marketing folks at Activision and ensure this is put on the box of the game?

    The game trailers episode was good and the new trailer got me really hyped again. I am getting it regardless though, asTesco took the £30 for my pre-order the second I confirmed it.

    Sounds like the death streak could balance things a lot more or people who are not as good.

    You've got be kidding? No dedicated server will kill the sales, there's already thousands of people moaning about having no dedicated servers in OFP:DR, in MW2 we'd be talking millions of threads on the IW forums about the same thing! Insanity.

    Yeah, because I bet they're expecting the PC version to be their biggest seller :roll:

    It does suck tho, we were planning on having MW2 replace TF2 as our official lunch game at work, but this might make it less optimal (Altho I guess it'll be fine to just host it on a regular player server )

    I'm glad, basically. It was really losing its shine to me and just kinda looks ugly. All the gameplay videos just show a spamfest of screen text i.e. kill streak, who you killed and the gamertag, what challenge you just did, to the point where it looks like something from Ghost in the Shell.

    And the way it's crammed with every trendy futureweapon kids ask for is just yuck. SCAR, ACR, Tavor, Kriss, AA-12, it's complete fanservice.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, here, but wasn't Call of Duty 4 one of if not the best selling PC game of 2007, despite coming out around the same time as Crysis, UT3, ETQW, and The Orange Box?
