Does MP support Steam Cloud? The one thing I found really annoying with CoD4 was how you had to start all the way back from level 1 on every new install. Steam Cloud would be a perfect solution to this.

I remember a nice little hack (.reg file) that you just needed to double click and you would unlock everything in the game, including all xp levels. If there's one thing I hate in a game, is joining a server and get pwned by some lifeless dude that has weapons that I can't buy because I'm a beginner.

Also what about this, these folks claim IW copied a community map http://www.codboards.com/showthread.php?t=31565 ?

What a ridiculous claim. Doesnt look like the same map at all to me.

The guy made Pripyat - a real place. It was already in COD4 (ferris wheel, anyone?). The shots look absolutely nothing like each other except for having a) a similar landmark (the Cherynobl tower, ffs), b) water (with no other similarity anywhere), and c) gravestones (there is at least one cemetery in pripyat).

I mean, sure, who knows, maybe they did lift it (the contest rules probably give them ownership of all submitted files anyway), but from what the guy showed it's not even close.

Yea apart from the first one which have the same landmark and a few props I can't really see much else. You can only have maps look so different when they are based on the same real world location and for the same engine (well MW2 has a lot of updates but you get what I mean).

Seems like they totally missed the point that it is in fact a remake of Brecourt from CoD1. That alone pretty much trumps anything else.

The Cod4 map looks more interesting (from the screenies)

Christ, the singleplayer is difficult and only on Harderned. I never had this much trouble with CoD4 on Veteran.

Love to read more MP experiences from PC players, my impression is that it works better then expected. But there have been some good writeup of bad experiences, like here.

I have the same experience and impression as this guy, unfortunately. Might improve when Steam releases, but for now, it's a real lottery if you end up on a playable server or not.But SP is a blast, but god damn it's hard!

We had that Brecourt remake done about a year and a half ago. It really was mostly a texture and grass swap that got it 90% there. Then a guy went in and redid the trenchline cus it looked so bad from COD2.

I though it was going to pics of Karachi, lol.

I haven't had any problems with IWNet. There a few annoyances though such as being stuck at a tiny FOV and being returned to the lobby between games and having to wait a while before the next round begins.

i used to get pissed off at the 15 - 30 second wait at the end of cod4 games..

god knows what this will be like.

Plenty of vids floating round youtube showing wallhacks and autoaim stuff already for PC.

No admins/dedicated servers to ban them either!

Any official word on if changing your FOV and or adding console etc. will ban you? I'd hate to loose my Steam account.

Also I imagine the PC experience is better in europe, because PC is more popular there and we're all packed mucht tighter together, as well having more broadband connections.

But does anyone know about how region locked this game is, could I use a CDkey from Britain in Holland, I wanna buy it there because it's a shit load cheaper. And if not, would it work if I accessed my account in Britain and input the CDkey there, but later played in Holland.

I got banned on CS:S (Don't ask...) and I still have my account. I can even still play that game, just not on VAC servers.

Anyways, I don't think changing FOV would get you banned man, that would be uber retarded.

PS. My copy of MW2 should arrive in the mail in 2 or 3 days, man I can't fucking wait.

If it did get you banned it would only be from MW2. Van bans are per-engine. (Goldsrc, Source, UT, etc)
