I don't have any problems with Deus Ex's controls that can't be solved by manually rebinding them. There are worse old school control schemes, look at Thief 1's, or Hitman 1's, or System Shock 1's.
Deus Ex 3

controls are about more than the key binding
when you move forward and bump into something or you jump or swim it has a feel that different from game to game and deus exs feel was just bad ...
the animtion, the sounds, how your camera moves, how high you jump, how fast you get pulled back to earth, how you accelerate/decellerate when moving , will you slide along edges when you bump into a prop or go to full stop? ... there is a million factors that goes into tight feeling controls ... and in the first deus ex no attention was paid to this what so ever
so yeah lookign forward to seeing how human revolution feels !

That's exactly it, Warby. I'm not being a 'BAH I HATE DEUS EX' anti-fanboy. I just found it really hard to get into.
I imagine for a lot of people it has a lot of nostalgic value, just how a game such as Command and Conquer does to me. Whereas to a lot of people nowadays, C&C isn't as enjoyable, I find it really fun. The same could be said about Deus Ex.
I'll give the new one a go though, definitely!

Deus Ex 3 lead game designer Jean-Francois Dugas says the original Deus Ex was "kind of slow". He added, "There weren't enough exciting, memorable moments. It was aimed more towards a simulation rather than a game experience.'"http://www.n4g.com/pc/News-219734.aspx

DX3's dev team is headed up by Jean-Francois Dugas, the guy who said the original Deus Ex was "kinda slow," has admitted that the 360 is his gaming platform of choice, has said that he believes there's a lot to learn from casual games, and whose past efforts include R6: Vegas and Far Cry Instincts.
GOTY tbh.

Well I'm one of those guys that never played the original Deus Ex back when it was still something other than a scorching eye-bleeding game. I tried since then, and yeah as much as I should be able to enjoy something on its gameplay alone, I'm also not blind and the game is clearly no longer enjoyable to me with these graphics. I had the exact same epiphany when I bought and started playing Max Payne again. Ouch....

oh... my... fucking... god!! What an amazing trailer! The music is beautiful! Love the high glossiness reflections on the black metals!
(It's all still pre-rendered, but fuck me it's awesome, not all trailers have the ability of giving you goosebumps)
-
music is amamamazing - narrative is amamamazing - cg looks amamamazing - "drool"
-
Yeah that was very very intense and well done, loved the music. Can't wait to see ingame footage!
-
More than amazing! :megamon:

That's a pretty awesome trailer. Only thing that i don't like is the yellow piss lighting everywhere. Sure thats a pretty common light color in a metropolis at night but so are white and blue lights that would counter balance the monochromatic look.
-
Yeah.. it's a bit brownish, which kinda goes against the Cyber punk color pallet. Not that there's a rule that you can't have browns, but... ya know, brown is definitely the predominant color.

Still, that's some dope shit. Looking forward to see gameplay @ e3
-
Feels a little Blade Runner at points. Looking very cool.
-
this definitly gets my "BEST CINEMATIC TRAILER" for a game ever made award !
"BEST TRAILER" is still portal =^ö^=
-
Whew, there's too many things I like about that trailer to list. Seriously pumped now. It is definitely a little too yellow, seeing as both Deus Ex 1&2 were predominately blue, I expect they've chosen that to set them apart.
-
I'll care face when I see the game instead of some CG.
-
Fantastic. Really want to see more. MORE.
-
oh yeah no all the hailing goes straight to the cg trailer guys the game devs still have to proof themselves completely independent of this !
-
They released screenshots too, digging this rifle
