damn i need to keep on talking my professors into getting you to our school as well. decent price you won yourself there. 40.000 isn't too much but it can help alot especially regarding you can sell the game UDK based.

Yeah, make them hire me for a talk

I am really stepping up my teaching activities, I am trying to go by one school a month.

    Update!

We have been awarded a 45 000 USD development grant by the Scandinavian governments. It was a huge honor for us to be awarded a grant out of the 90-something applications they received! This grant will really help us get this game done, and to make it best possible experience.

And we have posted screenshots of our brand new "King". Remember that monster with the staff that never attacked you in the mod version? We have totally remade him.

Congratulations on all your success! I only just watched the trailer you posted a few pages back, it's very impressive. I especially liked the 'crunching' sound effects the ball made when running over the bugs as well as the ape at the end.

Office or no office, making a game is expensive. You can get a simple little office for between 300 to 500 euro a month. Times 5 for 5 months development is a mere 1500 to 2500 euro. That doesn't has a big impact on your budget.

What does are salaries, and that you always have, with or without an office. Lets say you want to have 1000 euro after taxes a month, which is very little. That means 2000 euro before taxes multiplied by lets say 4 people multiplied by lets say 5 months is 40 000 euro.... And thats for not even half a year, just 4 people, and a salary you cant even survive on.

And there is the age certificates which are quite expensive, accountant, the (way too overpriced) 2d and 3d software, you need a budget for marketing, etc.

It may have gotten easier the last few years to distribute your game and get your hands on pro technologly like the UDK, the whole process still demands a significant investment. So we are very happy to have received this grant, takes some pressure of us and allows us to focus on making the best game we can rather than worrying how we are going to survive the coming month.

I do not think it was coming too expensive for so few people. Glad you had additional funds to continue! Good luck to finish the project, I enjoyed the demo!

    Day 6

    [Blocked Image: http://www.theballthegame.com/media/madscreenshotspecial6.jpg]

An unfinished room in the final level of the game. The construction was abandoned when the civil war broke out. Little trains used to deliver the raw material to the construction site, as workers excavated caves deep inside the “Pico del Miedo” as the volcano is known nowadays.
