Are you playing on low settings?

In all seriousness though I am really liking the changes. How far are you into the story Sprony?
-
What story? You can't play the new Act (campaign) and I'm never touching the original, Dr Evil Wink, "Story", again!
-
I thought you said Act 5 looked amazing. Is it something you can visit during Adventure Mode instead of the Campaign Mode?
-
So act 5 is essentially act 1 art again? ... Why? Do they not like exploration of new environments?
-
-
I can confirm what HP says. I just tried Act 5 in Campaign Mode and it looks GREAT! The style is consistent but looks nothing like Act 1. It does have a gloomier darker look which I really like.
Unfortunately due to extreme rubber banding I couldn't play on. -

Act 5 is a piece of art! I don't know what gave you impression I didn't like it? Perhaps I should have phrased myself better. I just meant to say that I would never play Diablo 3's original campaign mode again. As far as I know you can't play Act 5 in campaign mode? But I'm loving it in Adventure mode. It's goddamn beautiful. Kinda like Darksides 2 and the Kingdom of the Dead.

Euh I never said you didn't like it. I only quoted you on Act 5 as you said "What story? You can't play the new Act (campaign)" in order to find out if you saw Act 5 in Adventure Mode.
But when I got home tonight and booted it up and there was the Campaign Act 5. It is friggin gorgeous though. (definately not finished yet as I can still see the borders of the world.)

You can play the campaign? I must check this out NOW!

Is there an open beta of this coming anytime soon?

I'm intrigued by this, hearing some great things. Keep up the good work Blizz peeps!

What? Act 5 is a whole new act, with whole new art.
Comparing this:

with these:
It seems awfully similar in terms of color and art. Even pandemonium looks like it could be a part of the rest of westmarch, which is just weird.
-
Sentura I think you have to see it in action and not base it on bad images that are full of monsters and effects. Sure there is some consistency in terms of color and art. It has to fit the new Diablo style.
But while playing Act 5 I never had the feeling It was something I had seen before. -
All I'm saying is that dark, gothic and brooding does not require a single dark blue/green color palette. Act 4 was awesome in terms of color because they dared create something interesting. With this new act, I just can't see how you can justify this because of the new Diablo style. For me, more than anything, it serves to diminish the distinction between the acts more than before. It's a shame, really.
-
I see where you are coming from with the distinction between acts in terms of overal color palette.
Act 5 (Westmarch) is geographically not that far from Act 1 (New Tristram) though. The most changes I found were the overal architecture. Especially the cathedral area looked particularly nice (see image below)

But given the choice to make a completely new act that you could place anywhere in the world of Diablo 3, why choose it to be right next to where act 1 was made? I understand that some merit might have been given to the thought that Westmarch has been a previously unexplored part of the world up until now - but then why wouldn't that be part of act 1 to begin with?
It's just stuff like this that baffles me.
-
Eh, I don't mind if they've tried to ground the location by including some "Act 1" parts, because it stops each act from feeling like a themed Sonic zone, I don't think Pandemonium looks like Westmarch, and each D3 act so far has blown away D2 as far as environment diversity goes.
