This is the interview. He was quite diplomatic: http://diablo.incgamers.com/blog/commen ... n-diablo-3
I think the most rage-worthy comment is by the elf Andrew Silvernail (Andrew Chambers?). It's safe to say the reason Diablo 3 sold fast is because of the previous two games David Brevik partly created. Though he also ignores that and just credits him for Hellgate London...
Drama also prompted me to check out what Blizzard are doing to Diablo 3, such as the Paragon system and item/content changes. I don't think my group will be picking this back up.

Hellgate was better than Diablo 3.
I agree with what he said. Just goes to show that the people in charge of making d3 have no clear idea of how to make a Diablo game.

Stay classy, Blizzard. How can anyone say Brevik is a loser?

I liked D2 alot so I played some of this game and it was fun and then I tried to keep playing with my brother but his level was too high so he made a new character and we had to do all the parts I had done over again and that was ok but by the time we got where I had left off it was bed time and then the next day I had stuff to do and so on and so forth.
Someone should make a game like this that can be played with other people even if everyone can't devote a thousand hours a week.

Aah yes. This is a big challenge for every level based multi player rpg.

Games are hard to design!

Amazing CG again. But I doubt I'll bother with this after the disappointment that was the main game.

Feels great to finally be able to talk about what I'm working on!http://us.battle.net/d3/en/reaper-of-souls/ dux, if you liked Diablo 2 (gameplay wise) you'll find some really great things here. If there's one thing that this team kept amazing me, is how everyone really listens to the feedback of the community.

This. Although for me the biggest issue was the hash they made of the storyline and setting. I'm totally expecting major gameplay improvements, but I don't know if I can muster up the interest unless the story somehow reverses all the bad elements of D3.
-
What dux and Wail said. I won't pick it up unless they completely reworked the game from the ground up gameplay-wise and worked on the story so it isn't a parody anymore.
-
No thanks, D3 sucked.
You'll have to show us an art breakdown though HP

-
I want to like this.

Visually appealing as always. Cinematics to drool over and great overall atmosphere. I'm sure you had a lot of fun working on it HP and I have no doubt it will look great.
However, Diablo 3 was build around greed and everything in the game shows that. It's hollow and soulless and there's no amount of patching that can ever fix that. I could live with that though. Expect for the fact that I loved the world of Diablo and it's story. I even bought the book of Cain. But what did I get in Diablo 3? One of the worst executions of a story I've ever seen in a game. Blizzard clearly didn't remember the rule:"Show, don't tell". Especially act 3, in which Azmodan, Hell's best commander, literally reveals and explains his every move before making it is an insult to one's intelligence. If that's the best that Hell can produce I'm not impressed. I'll stop now, before ranting 10 pages.
Anyway, I hope it's a cool act with a great story. It's pretty weird that they only added the Crusader. Because in a act with Death as the main theme there should be a Necromancer class.

It looks like Reaper of Souls will be adding a ladder system like the one in Diablo 2. There's also talk about an Adventure mode which let's you play the game without the story or quests. The story mode itself will have 103 quests added divided over all acts and should make it better. This and a shitload of other changes. Nothing is set in stone but it's a reliable source. Will Diablo finally become the game it should have been at launch?
-
A ladder system won't mean anything if the game still isn't fun to play.
