Me to, very funny indeed! In fact, this is a "new" kind of humor in the games industry, isn't it?

At least I can't remember a single game mocking another one!

I am as MGS fan as it gets, and I laughed hard watching this!

Exactly, other MGS fans need to lighten up like you, HP. I don't think this is mocking MGS in a bad way; in fact, MGS fans should feel honoured that 'their' game has such a level of prestige that other games can parody it.

Apparently though, Metal Gear Solid (Not sure which one) makes a reference to Grand Theft Auto when somebody tries to steal a motorbike, the person saying, 'This isn't Vice City!', or something like that.

ah ah ah... yes man, good call!

It was in one of the latest trailers of MGS3!

I just beat it, and I must say I think overall it lived up to the hype I had for it.

    Quote

I was disappointed that it didn't stay in the middle east that long (I liked those parts!) and I agree that it got alitte harder to follow towards the end, but I don't think it was even close to how lost number 2 made me feel...

I'm kinda sad that this is the 'end' (so they say) btw, in the credits did anyone else notice

    Quote

"Voice of God : Hideo Kojima" That made me lol, for those that missed it, it was in the first section of credits, when it was going over voice actors

I didn't find it funny at all, then again the BC characters aren't doing anything for me at all :G

Ok, this is going to bug me if I don't ask it and find out. Does this game have a load option while ingame? So if I were to get spotted when I'm trying not to, can I hit pause and access some secret load game option that I'm just not seeing or to avoid a continue do I have to quit the game and re-load my save from the menu? That's what I did during act 5 when I was trying to sneak by and it got old fast, and playing through again I would love to find out that there is a load button before I want to strangle something from having to quit and reload so often...

It's not typical from MGS games to have a quick-load feature... It's not a PC game dude!

I could have sworn that the older ones had a load button when you contacted the save person.... Man I must just be losing it, I guess I just didn't have this need in the others. Oh well, not much I can do about it...

Best MGS since the first, so far. The whole game is really bringing back a lot of the feelings I had when playing MGS1 for the first time. Translation: having annoyance-free fun with Metal Gear.

Just finished it a couple of days ago, god damn, seriously I always thought this would be a great game, even maybe better than any MGS released until date, but I never thought it would be this good!

It is wonderful in every single possible aspect of a good video game, it has everything a 10/10 video game should have, addicting and fluent gameplay, gameplay freeroam (as you can opt whether or not you should go rambo style, or you can slip pass unnoticed through most of the game), it is a wonderful cinematic experience, very well written plot, consistent learning curve, a splendid soundtrack etc, etc, I could stay here for hours straight mentioning everything I loved about this game, but the one I definitely enjoyed the most, was the nostalgic feeling while playing this game!

Those who played, and enjoyed the first MGS for PS1 will love this one, I don't want to spoil it, but all I can say is that you'll shred a nostalgic tear!

This game puts to shame most of the AAA games out there, you can tell instantly that this game was made with love and passion by every single employee at Konami! My great respect to Kojima and his team, MGS4 will now rest in my heart as the best game ever made!

I'm still in awe with that brief

    Quote

MGS1 2/3 minuts gameplay on the helipad (Snake's dream).

Seriously, that is Kojima's genius mind right there...!

Plus, I loved that final scene! I almost fell on my knees when I saw that

    Quote

Snake didn't killed himself after all, and when I saw Big Boss, I almost had a fucking heart attack! I loved that scene, It was epic! It all "glues" back toguether on that brief explanation of big boss!

I blitzed this in release weekend on Big Boss difficulty. It definitely felt more like watching a film than playing a game, I think I only played 8 of the 18 hours it took me to complete it. But, I still think it was excellent. If every game was like this I might have a problem though!

There is a lot of cutscenes, but they are all brilliantly done, especially

    Quote

liquid on the boat and the fisticuffs at the end.

It's not like MGS2 where it's all codec conversations and real-life footage of people walking.

The gameplay itself is more than complete, most of the complaints about it – seemingly by xbox trolls – don't seem to realise if the enemies did track you effectively the whole stealth thing would be rather poor. This conception is thanks to everyone who records themselves putting it on easy and playing like an FPS. You can use people as a human shield and shoot their panicking mates in the face, what do people want?

A lot of people find the MGS humour out of place, but I enjoy it.

    Quote

Such as The PS3 references with Otacon and Mantis. And Akiba literally crapping himself during the first FROGs battle. Immature, but I'm not above that.

I was going to play it through without killing anyone, but on New Game+ you retain all your weapons and get some pretty neat gimmick ones as well. So I think I'll just go for the Assassins Creed outfit reward instead. Stabby stabby.
