If I had Yoda in my copy I'd happy pay money for DLC that removed him.

I don't want to derail this thread, but what's your opinion on the game? I enjoy it, but some of my friends who are really into fighting games get absolutely livid playing it. The fast characters seem to dominate pretty darn hard whenever we play - but I guess it's early days right now.

Since Seong-Mina is my main then I'm pretty pissed, they nerfed some my bread and butter moves D:

As a result I've been trying out Kilik and Cervantes, trying to brush up on them (they seems in better shape in this one).

Overall I think its great tho, at Io we have a small gang that play every day after lunch, and we have gotten to the point in SC3 where its not about skill anymore, but rather about reverse psychology and tricking the other player. However, the games we play there tend to be extremely fast paced and very hectic, and from what I've played in SC4 (Which has only been against bots so far), then it feels a lot slower. Hopefully that'll disappear a bit when you play it against a human opponent. It does worry me a bit, personally I think SC3 was brilliantly paced.

I really like the character creation, almost adds an RPG layer to the game. I'm still not sure I quite understand most of the skills tho

Anyway, I'm overall I'm fairly pleased, can't wait to get back to work and try it out against the real competition

    stuff!

I was just surprised at the amount of rage my hardcore fighter buddies were putting out. Maybe it’s just they expected to steamroll over me, because they’ve played street fighter to a tournament level and I play that unmanly Guilty Gear

I play Amy (duh, gothic loli with drills?) and my initial perception was she and the other fast characters had the advantage. However, at a higher level of play I don’t think this is true, her B&B is pretty predictable, all her significant specials but the rush are reactive to the opponent, and doing them wrong gets you launched or worse. Kilik and Cervantes are actually the two characters I have the most trouble with because they're so good at keeping me at range and rushing them is pretty stupid.

The problem seems to be the characters move slowly, mashing is too viable and the blocking system is nonsensical. Where a move hits and where a move hits usually makes no sense at all, by which I mean it’s not rare for the animations to look like its hitting low when it needs to be blocked high, and vice versa. As a character that increasingly needs to learn enemy attack chains and punish them, it’s getting rather annoying.

The character creation stuff is defiantely cool (probably spent just as much time in there as online), it looks very nice and soul calibur was never competitive anyway... so all-in-all it’s pretty solid in my book. It’s a pity you have the 360 version, or we could rumble

biggest flaw: near the sides of the display then pen flickers all around which is kind of annoying when you have important controls there. depending on your calibration you wont be able to open a hidden start menu (windows) or dock (mac os x).

when it comes to the other stuff: the display is okay. it seems to be a little dark, but not too bad. the colors match my macbook pro displays colors really well. the pen works really good. feels as working on an intuos3 with a display you have a pivot point unter the display which is cool for rotating the display when it is flat on your desk. if you don't like this behavior you can put some rubber stamps underneath it BUT you can do this only once. this is a big fail imo. imo the cable from the converterbox to the actual device is pretty long. if you put it on your desk you will have too much wire on your desk. the pen that comes with the cintiq is basically an intuos3 standard pen. it comes with 3 extra default nibs, 1 spring nib and 1 stroke nib. also there seems to be a really small delay in drawing. usually you dont notice it, but if you wave around a scrollbar in firefox for example after a while you will see that it is delayed. probably i should make a video of that.

overall: the device is cool especially when you dont want to spend 2 grands while still having a cintiq. there are some technical flaws that you an live with or bypass with the calibration. i dont regret buying it since it is damn awesome to directly see what you are painting.

i give it a 4 of 5 points. if there will be an improved second generation you should probably get one of those. at the moment there is nothing confirmed about such a thing.

the cintiq is a lightweight. i think its like 2kg so it is as light as a laptop. the cooling works great so you dont get sweaty underneath it. this is due to the openings going either sideways or at the sides on the bottom and the "small" display size which produces less heat. you can easily keep it on your crossed legs while drawing with one hand.

i was just uploading a video to youtube (shitty handy cam):
