The worst bit for me was the first underground part in which you can hear the blood sucker monster hiding somewhere, but you don't know where he is... Holy crap. I never managed to wash the shit out of my pants properly after that.

Thats the thing, it actually MADE me stop playing. Im not sure if i would willingly go back into that situation again. most immersive thing i have ever experienced in gaming EVER.

I can call myself a man though. I played this shit with only the monitors illumination as my source of light. OH YEAH.

If clear sky doesn't make me go through all my pairs of underpants I'll want my money back.

Need to start releasing some of this stuff/getting previews in english language sites. The release is only two months away after all.

Why do you hate english speaking gamers, GSC

Edit: The wikipedia entry claims that Clear Sky will run on DX8 machines, "Just like the prequel". Except Shadow of Chernobyl doesn't run on DX8 machines, it freaks out if you try and doesn't even draw the main menu. This is why it's important to get info out there!

(my copy of Shadow of Chernobyl has been waiting to be played, unused, for so long )

Do you mean Clear Sky (as in, the system requirements for the new game have been lowered), or Shadow of Chernobyl? I've got a Radeon 9250 and a copy of Shadow of Chernobyl, and the main menu's all black when I loaded it. I tried it again recently for the 1.005 patch, it didn't help. I can just tap enter to get through the main menu, but once the game starts and I walk outside the screen gets covered in random scattering of blue/brown snow, like a TV without a signal sorta. I bought it because on some sites before it was released the minimum requirement for video card was listed as Radeon 9200, the game's installer says the same, but now post-release everything says Geforce FX/Radeon 9500.

I'm gonna be getting a new computer soon (Been saving up for the last two months to get something really special), and Stalker (along with Bioshock and seeing all the fancy effects Valve added to the Orange Box games that I can't see ) is really the whole reason I'm doing so.

Well strange, it seems that minimum is 9500.

I have a question about Clear Sky multiplayer. I was looking at the page, and reading the descriptions, and am I right in thinking that Clear Sky's mutliplayer will essentially be in and around the normal SP game world, with item collection and factions and stuff? And apparently a map editor included to make MP maps? Will there be modes to have two teams of players aligned with two separate AI factions and go to war against each other?

What You've read was SHOC MP description i think (http://www.stalker-game.com) and its normal DM/TDM/CTF game with no Ai, not sure where do you get this info from.. :megaman: ah and MP map editor is out since original stalker release too...
