Am I the only one seriously bothered/concerned with the fact that the devs act like they're only making it for consoles?

Every single demo/preview is done on a 360 and all the interfaces seem engineered towards consoles in general, I know 360s are easier to bring to conventions and stuff, but all the online previews and in-house videos are clearly being controlled with something other than a mouse.

I don't care as long as it works good on my PC!

DvS, that is one of the majoirty concerns that the people of NMA care about. Most console ports (console to PC) suck balls out, they have updates come later, they don't get all the additions and bonus crap.

I aint buying F3 for PC, I might buy it for 360, but for PC it smells like JUWARSZ

No you aren't the only one. I bothers me a great deal. A lot of my careface is devided between this and Diablo 3.

Sais the guy who are currently playing Clear Sky, constantly patching it, and like you said, you can't even play the game the way you want because of bugs!

    Quote from st0lve

(From clear sky thread) I haven't yet joined any faction, I'll try to do it without the first time, then do some faction war later on. Why? Cause I think the faction war stuff isn't properly fixed yet.

And clear sky is a PC only game, maybe ence the reason why It's so fucking buggy? Because they know they can release patches later on.

I played both oblivion and morrowind from bethesda, and these both games together don't have 1/5 of the bugs present on SoC, let alone the bugs present on the release build of Clear Sky!

I have no idea what the fuck it's on the head of those guys as GSC, but at least bethesda makes sure the game is at least playable from start to finish on their first release build!

Anyways, my point is that there should be no fear when buying F3 for PC, I'm confident it will be as stable as console versions.

I think blaming the platform for bad stability is jumping to conclusions, they're different developers, different routines and procedures, and above all... different standards.

I have no doubt that fallout 3 will be well "ported" to the PC, but the point I'm making is that it shouldn't have to be "ported" to begin with. Bugs or stability isn't my concern either... my concern is that so many facets of the game seem to be optimized/centered around both the console as a platform, and as a demographic. Case in point; the slow-motion scenes... obviously aimed at the kind of person who has an xbox and all the halo games and thinks teabagging is funny. Sure, it'll be cool the first three or four times... but seriously... every single time I critically hit?

Consolizing a game...It's nothing new. See: Deus Ex: Invisible War.

HP, when I got Clear Sky, I KNEW I would need to patch it, cause that's the history of the company. Wasn't surprised at all. The game had what, 2 patches in a week? You can only dream about that on a ported game. You will get 2 patches on consoles, but you won't get squat on ported games.

I have yet to experience a console to PC game where the PC version gets new maps, patches and extra stuff before the console version...

Call of Duty 4 got all the patches on PC before its console counterparts. The map packs were released earlier on the 360 but when they finally got around on PC I sure as hell didn't have to pay for them

The map packs were free for Call of Duty 4 PC because nVidia sponsored the downloads. As far as I know they weren't going to do it if they couldn't charge.

Fallout 3 may be in a better state on release, but from what I've heard of Bethesda it won't have half the open-ended gameplay that Clear Sky offers. And considering Fallout 3 seems to be playing a bit of catch-up with Stalker...

This is getting OT, but fuck it..

The only persons I heard saying invisible war was a very good game, was the persons that never played the first one before!

I don't know if you played DeusEx Erratic, but god, DeusEx IW Isn't 25% as good as the first one! I'm not saying IW is not a good game, I played it, and kind of enjoyed it, I was just so disappointed it didn't lived up to It's predecessors name.

I guess one can say DeusEx is Warren Spector's one hit wonder, cos he definitely fucked up with the sequel. And his tardness has grown with time, especialy when he said not so long ago that "100 hour long games are wrong ..."

Hey now, Deus Ex is my favorite game, I've yet to play a game better than it. Got that thing the first week of release and have been nuts about it ever since. But I think a lot of the shit IW got was for simply not living up to the original. I doubt many fans saw it through to completion to really offer a thorough opinion on it. Yes, It has a ton of issues that have been talked about for ages but when you really look at the type of game it was, that sort of Origin/Looking Glass lineage of games, moral choices, hybrid genre bending kinda stuff, you don't see that very often anymore and it kinda sucks. I can bet if IW was released today there'd be a very different reaction to it. I think it's easy to forget how streamlined and simplified games have sort of become over the years. If you set it alongside a lot of the stuff coming out today, it really would stand above most of it.

JC "so there is a difference between a sandwich and a baby?" "yes... I don't fuck a sandwich... before I eat it" Denton and Paul Denton better be in Deus Ex 3 or I'm gonna be disappointed.
