Bad combination if you ask me.
Fallout 3

Why? Because Oblivion is set in a fantasy world where you can cast spells?
The gameplay mechanics can still work well for Fallout3, and I'm pretty much confident it will.

Hmmm, granted that its pretty low res, then it does look kinda rough. I donno, the visuals aren't that impressive tbh. Also the V.A.T.S looks pretty overpowered unless theres a serious cooldown on it in the real game.

E3 trailer:

Oh and it apears they have a new website?

Anyways, this game is Day1 to me.

Well, the advertisement of this game is fine but the game itself doesnt look convincing to me honestly. The gameplay looks really plain and arcade and the judging from the looks it could be easily ported over to PS2. It doesnt look fallout at all too me.

The animations don't look too hot (use mocap dammit!), combat looks kind of clunky.

I'm going to buy it regardless, hopefully the story is good enough. I wish they would have shown some dialog or general roaming of the wasteland.

On 3 minutes? How on hearth would they do that?
Place yourself on their situation, you made a game that takes around 100 to 200 hours to finish, depending on the player, of course. What would you show first? The combat system, of course.
Remember oblivion trailers? imho, those trailers are very misleading, since they only show combat scenes, while RPG's go WAY beyond combat.

Wow, that trailer is incredible.
I only played Fallout 2 last year, but I loved it.
I think Fallout 3 will capture the essence of the Fallout universe and present it in a brand-new way. I felt that the combat in Fallout was a little clunky and slow for my taste, I like how Bethesda have updated it. However, there are a lot of fans of Fallout that are completely opposed to this dramatic change in gameplay; they want the same gameplay, with better graphics. However, I just don't think that Fallout 3 would work if it simply took the mechanics of Fallout 1/2 and slapped brand-spanking new, 3D graphics on the top.
Edit - Haha, I just went on the No Mutants Allowed forums and read through their threads on the new gameplay trailers; it was quite worrying to read. I think they want to hate the game so much because it's moving away from its roots, that regardless of how fun/entertaining the game looks, they instantly try to play it down. It's quite saddening really.

I've been to plenty of presentations at e3 that went on for 30 mins. I'm just sayin' it would be nice to show something off besides the combat, afterall they said it themselves that they didn't set out to make a fps.
I'm not trying to beat down on it. I'm looking forward to this as much as anyone else, I think I just had too high of hopes.
Those nma-fallout guys are idiots.

Just watched the walkthrough trailer, and while the theme and setting is great, I cant help but to be completely bored by the looks of the level. Its super standard, gray, desaturated, there is no lighting and so on. It could have just as well been a level from Killzone, Gears Of Wars, Resistance, and 300 other desatured war torn post apocalypse games.
That really killed my interest.
-
I just watched the walkthrough and my god HOW CLUNKY was the animation? I was really surprised at how bad it was

What annoys me the most is they are presenting a classic pc title on a ps3

That's an awesome trailer, but the lighting looks very dull in most of places!

I don't understand VATS at all. Looks like it's a super powered turnbased system... Kinda weird. I didn't see any actionpoints placed, maybe the low res did all of that. And isn't it possible to miss? Hell with 15% he still hits and blows the hell out of anything in sight.
To me, it did kinda look like a generic shooter, if you are skilled, I don't see the point of using VATS, since you'll probably be able to do it quicker in your own way. I would have loved to see some of the dialogue, and them showing off examples where your speech skills actually had something to say (1 char., 1 int. + lowest speech in FO
).Other than that, yea sure it's a cool FPS

It's a demo, they're not going to make it possible to miss in the demo since obviously you want to see him kill shit, not miss.

Speech gameplay is prone to revealing plot etc so they'll probably hold off on that.
-
Um.. Since when did all the dialogue in any game reveal the storyline? They could just show the difference between 1 int., 30 speech and 10 int., 80 speech, hopefully there is a difference...
