dux Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 Hi guys, I need some advice. My internet ping keeps spiking out all the tiime from 5pm to the early hours of the morning. I've run tracerts to ips with mad spikage all over the place, ping's in games go mad, teamspeak goes mad, anything. Even friends tracerting me have spikes all over the shop. So I cantact my ISP, they give me some vague solutions and I try them out and tell me that spiking on tracerts is nothing. WTF? no change. I've plugged myself straight into the master socket, tried a different PC, different routers, different adsl filters, everything I can possibly do with no change. Is it just my ISP being shit but they refuse to admit it? They keep telling me nothing is wrong and I'm the only one with problems. Should I just call it quits and get my MAC code and try someone else? I've never had trouble like this with my ping even with bad isp's. Quote
insta Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 I actually worked at a helpdesk for a ISP back in the day. When something like this would happen, I would usually forward the call to someone that was competent at their job. Quote
dux Posted February 10, 2011 Author Report Posted February 10, 2011 Yes. I have an insta replying to my problems. Quote
Minos Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 Can't you threaten to cancel the service if they don't fix it? That's what I do when I have similar problems, doing that works 99% of the times here in Brazil I even got a monthly 70% discount for one year on my cable tv bill because I threatened to cancel the service lmao Quote
insta Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 When someone threatened to cancel I would get really happy because that was like the only thing I knew how to do haha. Quote
Defrag Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 If it only happens at peak times, then it's most likely their problem. Quote
