that talk, way to go dude! Also, seems like this game is getting a Netflix series?!
The books*
though they certainly are similar.Quote from Sentura34 minutes ago, Sentura said: That's... actually a good idea?!?
Netflix productions are all data driven, it's pretty interesting and at the same time not very surprising these days. They know the show will have a large following. I can imagine it looking a bit like Tom Hardy's Taboo on HBO. Great show by the by.

With those parameters : "UnlitGeneric" { $basetexture "yacht/water_light" $surfaceprop glass $translucent 1 $selfillum 1 $nocull 1 $selfillumtint "[174 58 224]" } "UnlitGeneric" to make it transparent AND selfillum because those doesn't work together with "VertexLitGeneric") But it doesn't look like real light spots ... The idea here is to save some ressources so the poor Source engine doesn't have a heart attack. Any idea on how to make those models more "flashy" without real lights? Thank you
Try $additive 1 and a $selfillummask. The way your light looks like now suggest there's a lot of moisture in the air by the way. Might need some fog to go with that.

[*] Fixed long standing issue with lightstyles and dynamic shadow blending – they are now compatible with CSM’s and can be used in maps. [/list] YES!

Looking good, those ceramic facades sure remind me of my visit to Lisbon last summer
I'd like to see some more AO in certain textures/props! -
@goss343 It's always a good idea to look at how a real world location similar to your scene solve their lighting. In this case I'd put the lamps on the metal rafters to get them closer to the ground, and perhaps experiment with the ceiling height. Use light spots here. You can also add sky windows to get a more interesting environment, and more liggt spots on your walkway pillar.

@Serialmapper @Radix you have to launch the game with -insecure to build cubemaps after the latest patch.

Doing some final polish on Scepter. Here's T-spawn.

Yeah tried it earlier, Hammer crashes for me. It's just a mess right now.

When I finally have some time to spare, the SDK gets bricked:|

Eh, I don't know, I feel that most of what he's saying can be applied to any non-linear game. They all turn in to grinds if you want them to, and that's the thing, isn't it? I find that they all get tedious at some point, but that's only if you let them.
He brought up that shrines use the same tileset, I had not even considered that anyone would find that boring. When I get to a shrine I'm looking forward to solving a new puzzle, preferably in a way the developer had not intended, and potentially finding a unique armor piece, that's exciting enough for me. I don't plan on going out of my way to find korok seeds or farm dragons either, I see that as bonus fluff for those that have the time to spare.
I agree that it's not the best game ever. That's Dark Souls 1. But it's best in class when it comes to open world sandboxes. He considers Witcher 3 to be the best, but that game had such fundamental flaws in combat and inventory management that it got unbearable for me to even finish, despite the great writing.
Edit: forgot to add that his critique of no new tools unlocking is flawed in its entirety, as that would go against the whole non linear design approach. Gating X content behind new tools that require you to first visit Y dungeon makes for a bad and frustrating experience. The key here is that you can solve problems in multiple ways, so I think giving the player all the tools necessary at the start is GREAT.
