All that metal, the door frames, catwalks and lamps mixed with rock has Q2 written all over it. I agree that there's something about it that doesn't sit quite right. Might be the thick haze and green light sources, I don't know.

The way I see it, games should accomodate to their story and setting. Metro 2033 as an open world would have been absolute ass. They would never be able to sell me the idea that a young man without military traing would aimlessly roam radioactive streets and catacombs, filled with mutated and aggressive bears, gorillas, flying demon things, militant extremists snd natural anomalies, just to do what exactly? Find a couple of extra military grade rounds? The story and pacing of it was great in the first game, I hope they don't change their formula.

Still working on details for Scepter.. I'm kind of dragging it out at this point. Soon(TM). Here's some handpainted stuff.

30% off on NieR, better than what I had expected. Been told great things about this game. Probably the only game I'm getting this sale.
34% off SD6 is a great deal, if anyone's on the fence, just get it now ( @will2k?

I might pick up NieR: Automata if it's on there.

Nevermind, I'll share this again later once finished.

I still have my old Acer GD245HQbid (first gen too), it's a TN panel but the colors were pretty great when it released (3 of Delta E, which is good, not amazing but good enough).
Also, IPS panels aren't as slow as they used to be, you can still have something clean but only at 60 hz I guess.
ASUS has a IPS with 144hz and g-sync for around €800, but I've heard there's a big risk for backbleed

I'm sitting on an old, 1st gen 120 hz monitor with awful color calibration and contrast. I've mentioned before that I use my iPhone 7 for correction, and I wasn't lying. I'd like to pretend that I have time to play games these days, so I'd like 144hz with low MS, but I also want excellent color correction and contrast. What do I buy? An IPS panel? Are those as much of a gamble with bleed as they say? I doubt I'd spend more than €1k.

When I started in marketing/BI I chose the agency with the biggest, most renowned clients. Not because they paid more, but because the options down the road would be seemingly endless. At this point I've worked with brands everyone here will recognize. Not directly related to the gaming industry, but seems to be the way of the world in general

For sure, there's so much that's still undocumented. I had to ask @will2k about some stuff in a private convo recently, because Google came up empty

128 unit walls, or somewhere in that region, are fine for blocking off non playable areas. We can see this on dust2, overpass, inferno, cobblestone etc. Do you have a specific case for your scenario?

Quake 1 was the first game I made maps for. 20 years later I can still appreciate the Quake aesthetic, great stuff!

[Blocked Image: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/w/images/c/cc/Note.png] Note:When being used on a model, you must specify $model "1". [Blocked Image: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/w/images/c/cc/Note.png] Note:Multiple layers of the Refract shader will not render when applied on the same entity. For refract you must use "Refract" shader, not "LightmappedGeneric". And use it on brush entity or model, func_brush is the best. For me 1st option is working with every graphics settings. glass_d - texture [Blocked Image: https://68.media.tumblr.com/avatar_dbec918561e7_128.png] glass_n - normal map [Blocked Image: http://developer.download.nvidia.com/whitepapers/2008/normalmapdxt_id_files/02_dot2_small.png] [Blocked Image: http://oi66.tinypic.com/2cenhgn.jpg] Create yours with VTFEdit.
The problem with refract is that it distorts, so imo not a very good choice for two way windows in a competitive environment.

The shaders you want are disabled on low settings, that's just the way things are in CSGO, the middle ground here is to have a desaturated, slightly transparent texture. I know, it doesn't look realistic, but players must be able to identify the glass on all settings, so as to not create any unfair advantage.

I liked the first games enough to do all achievements on ranger diffi. I never do that for other games. This is super high on my list as I'm craving a linear FPS with a super immersive story and environment.

Because the odds are not publicly available on the key/case.
Edit: to eloborate, I don't mind the cases or the economy of digital goods themselves, they are fine, but I believe all addictive acitivites should be up front with the details, as that hopefully will deter at least some addiction.
-
Yeah, I still am of the opinion that cases are a scam for as long as they don't publicly reveal the odds (despite us already knowing them).
-
Played a little CS for the first time in just about forever, got a case, figured I'd open it since I had like €10 in funds. Instant regret after letting it spin, "this is a fucking scam". Out pops a bowie doppler P4.
Well, shit.

The lighting and art is sooooo good. Amazing work.
