Also Prime Matchmaking soon.
I guess removing Inferno is good in the long run. The map needs a face lift as well as a counter to all the smokes going down on Banana.

I really want to see where this map is headed
Thank you for showing interest in the map ![]()
Progress is slow, really slow... I don't make enough progress per hour spent on it, and I'm still at the layout stage. That said, I am extremely happy with the areas that are done and they won't be changed much until I've gathered feedback from a playtest.
I have no intention to release any build yet, since big chunks of the map are still under heavy construction. I only showcase the map in private session with friends. If you really want to see the map for yourself you can add me on Steam
When I feel like the map is good enough to playtest I will do so with a competitive 5v5 game to iron out some flaws, before applying to the Mapcore playtest.
No thread will be created yet either, since there are still major changes taking place. Showing the current state would waste both my time and anyone else providing feedback to it.
I'm rambling
But to sum up:

They wanted like a 1000 euros to fix it because, believe it or not, it was just a month out of it's warranty period. Hell no! That's not over yet (I'll never pay that).
This is very, very, very similar to my week :o
Gearbox on my GF's car broke down. Gonna cost us about 1000 euros (8000 Swedish crowns) to fix it. Insurance literally just expired by only a day or two! It's like they force the car to break down once the warranty wears off... They were willing to pay out a small sum though, but we still would have had to pay around 600 euros.
We took it to a shop where we would get a free rental during repairs instead, since we really need a car. Insurance won't cover it since the shop isn't registerd by them, but it's was probably the cheapest option anyway.
Other than that, we're getting a puppy in about a week! ![]()

I've got an encrypted back up, for which I have the password, but not the phone. Without the phone, I can't unlock my contacts. Is there a workaround? I tried hooking up another Iphone but no luck.
My phone is gone for 2 weeks for repairs and apparently my contacts weren't on my SIM and I encrypted the back up I made. Temp phone is basically useless without my contacts.
If you don't have iCloud, the SIM-card with the contacts on or the contacts saved in your backup copy, you're pretty much toast. There could be another way, but none that I am aware of ![]()
Not sure what you meant by "hooking up another iPhone". Do you mean that you used the backup to convert the other iPhone into a copy of the original? If you did that then the contacts should be there, unless you specifically changed the settings to not copy contacts to your backup-file.
Converting iPhone contacts into Android contacts is a piece of cake. Plenty of software for that. the simplest solution is probably to use google contacts.

Can't wait! This map looks epic!
Looking good!

I do think that you need additional detail in some areas, especially around the rooftop of the main structure. The red curved wall could also use some, if not a complete texture change.

The map is very grey. The colored containers has too much contrast compared to everything else and sticks out like a sore thumb. Look into adding some colored textures to the rest of the map and maybe add a brighter light_environment.
Quote from tr0nicQuestion: Would you consider a map that has a 1 time per round interactive button which raises a platform competitively viable? With the newly added co-op cs:go maps, do you think players wouldn't be as reluctant as they were before to something like this?
I'd like to see it done right. It can work as long as a win/loss isn't based on if T's managed to raise the platform or not, but is still important enough to go for at the beginning of a round (if you're planning to go for that particular site). ![]()
I don't really understand how your platform is supposed to work though. Why can T's boost at all times but CT's can't? It appears that they have the high ground?
I'd say Halo 2 and 3 had some interesting events that changed the map slightly, while not giving the defending side a major disadvantage. Check out the maps High Ground, High Ground, Standoff and Longshore for some inspiration.
Quote from ShibouRight now i can confirm Logic's concerns about narrow paths, but that can be solved easily.
Quote from ShibouI am a bit more worried about rotation timings. A Rotation from B --> B-Main --> Min --> Connector --> A takes 18 seconds.
Direct rotation from B --> CT-Ssawn --> A takes about 12 seconds.
The longest possible rotation from A --> A-Main --> T-Spawn --> B-Main --> B takes 24 seconds. Of course noone would chose this path under normal circumstances, yet all these times appear a bit long to me.
Would you suggest simplifiying the Bombsite for easier take/retake or shortenen rotationtimes by positionig the site mre into the middle of the layout?
If you're measuring from site-to-site (like, actually standing on the site at start/end) then that's actually a really good time for the shortest route. 12 seconds is similar to Mirage, Dust 2, Cobblestone and Overpass.
As for the other times I don't think that they are too long. That said, it looks like it will take a long time for T's to rotate unless they have control of mid. This is probably fine, but keep it in mind so that you don't make it longer somehow. I think you could successfully squish T-spawn closer to mid without impacting the timings that much if you wan't to shorten the rotation time a bit :v
One thing that I personally don't like is the placement of A-site. It feels squished into the corner and probably won't allow many angles to defend from in an after-plant scenario. It'd be nice with a more open site on A since B is kinda cornered as well.
These are just my thoughts and concerns, do with them as you please ![]()
Sweet looking viaduct dude!
Haven't played any of the games even though it would be right up my alley. Might give it a go in the future.
If you can't access Gardens upper area or the very right side of T-spawn, it probably shouldn't be on the layout
The area in the middle is understandable.
I worry that many pathways are very narrow and could cause blocking and hard areas to attack from as T's. Can't really tell if this is the case without some screenshots of the map though, you should add some ![]()
The map is currently very dark in areas. It's even hard to see the routes in the layout. You should probably brighten those areas up a bit (especially T-to-A) ![]()
Do continue on this map. Aim maps aren't a good way of learning what plays well in a competitive environment.
I think most people would look at your map and think that the angles and geometry looks rather dull. Long lines of sites are fine if the detail is still there, but the route from T to B is just a straight line without any interesting features. I'm not saying every line of sight should be as curvy as Short on D2, but the space needs to look and feel right. Also, avoid stairs(/ramps) that steep (referencing the one in T-spawn).
I think you will get the hang of things if you work on the map. Keep it up ![]()
I'd change the sun angle a bit. It's almost it has to be -80 degrees or something, doesn't really feel that natural ![]()
