It depends, some people can get on fine not making any custom models while others need it because it can't be covered with brushes

Do you mean community exclusive maps? Like when back in the day there league exclusive maps like tuscan & strike for example? People had to end up making different versions of the maps for different leagues. If that is the case then I don't think having exclusive maps for leagues / communities is a good idea at all, but maybe I misunderstood something

30 fps is disgusting for pc standards, a stable average fps is 60 minimum, one would think in 2015 this discussion would stop and people would push for 60 minimum

It's still a really shitty pc port and even AC: Unity ran better than this, and jacking it up to 60 fps in the ini or whatever seems to cause much much more problems than they solve for a lot of people

It doesn't have much detail aside from the photo itself, no scratches or other unique marks on the planks and they're all coloured the same, the repeating nails can be notched down to fewer numbers or removed 100% , I would also assume that it tiles pretty badly horizontally since both the left end and right end are carved inwards or whatever one would like to call it

Wow... just, wow! Has anyone in here tried it yet? I got my copy, but now I'm afraid to install, if I do it'll be impossible for me to get my money back.
Refund for your own good and check it out 6 months later again

@Michael Greenwood it doesn't matter because it's all about preference, but 8 is the best for initial layout

30 fps is disgusting, what games have been locked to it for the past 7 years except for some shitty titles?

That's a work of art bro. Also really politically correct. It's actually what I'm thinking. Now let's see if I can make that into a 1000 word article while remaining nice and polite!
Don't worry I did that for you
My dearest publishers,
Please go away with your pre-orders and politely go and step on a lego. As for those who pre-order: unfortunately you received a product that was not of your expectations, but the blame is on you. You knew very well what risks you were taking when you pre-ordered and yet you have the audacity to share your misfortunes about how bug-ridden, very poorly optimised joke of a title it turned out to be. But fear not, it's okay. Because you still have your not-so-fancy Batman DLC's to accompany your journey in the game. Kindly do everyone a favour and stop pre-ordering, my sweetest friends.
Yours,
Sprony

Why do people still preorder games?

I would recommend you post prior experiences too, I can't tell much from just the steam link

The insurgency planks look like a mix between hand-drawn and texturing, where they play around with masks and modifiers in photoshop (overlay, multiply, screen etc.) or whatever you would call them over their hand-drawn stuff
I can't explain it better, so hopefully if you don't understand someone can come in and ellaborate further
Ninja Edit: basically they don't just take a photo and tile it, they have texture artists who know what they're doing and who most of the time know how to digitally paint really well

That bastard sold it to me, I'm hyped now

@KernalPanic I wouldn't recommend playtesting the exact same layout again, the chatlogs, !feedback and demo is stored in the server so you can get all those
-
@Sentura I'm not even that old but damn this must be how true nostalgia feels like

Hey guys, I didn't feel like making a new unecessary thread.
Does anybody know what causes the overlays to go black in certain areas?

I'm not sure if that guy is trolling, 50k polys seems overkill for source
There isn't really any standard count you have to follow, if you're making something try making it as efficent and low poly while looking good as possible
