  • [CSGO] A Mapcore/Workshop public server?

    • RivFader

Seems like a lot of maps are tied now. How will you decide which get added?

Anyway, looking forward to see the final rotation for the server.

Just a quick question: Fire and Resort are pretty mich the same map, will you include both or just choose one version?

Very interesting. There is a bug/feature currently where reloading does not reset recoil, but otherwise this looks like a much better attempt at changing weapon balance than the previous over-the-top nerf ro rifles and pistols when the R8 was released.

There is also a new McSkillet video where he "leaks" a few of the Operation maps that should be out within the next 2 weeks. Right now he knows of Thrill, Austria, Concert, Shipped & Lite - nothing surprising, but I wonder why Waterfall is not among them.

Seems like I will have lots of nostalgic feelings next operation: Lite with viable tap shooting - 1.6 is back :D

Sounds good. Can you put the poll in the opening post, btw? We need all the voters we can get so we get a proper overview.

I quickly made a poll, should be active until the end of the week:

    Vote: http://goo.gl/ZnRVw6

    Results: http://goo.gl/2lbpVq

What do you guys say: Top 10? Top 15? And if something is missing, please tell me. I think I got most of the nice ones that are somewhat viable for a mix between comp. and casual play, though.

Wow, that is a huge rotation. I need some time to download all of those with my slow net. Oh well, I know 70-80% of those and they are all very well made.

Sounds like a good idea, actually.

Yeah, I really enjoyed these small cummities on each server where you could play more casucally, chat, make friends, etc.

And there are plenty of custom maps that do not get into an operation, yet deserve some love and playtime. St Mary, Coldwater, Arcade, Bagra, Fuel, Gellert just on the top of my head...

10 vs 10 sounds good, I am just MG level but I hope it will work out.

So I found this post on reddit about the workshop voting manipulation, but it was quickly deleted. However, the user made a pastebin of it:

If true, it is amazing how so much of all the terrible problems surrounding CSGO can be traced back to gambling in some way. It really is the root of corruption...

It's a shame that custom maps are basically limited to operations in GO, I would enjoy such a server.

Sad thing is, this wouldn't even be an issue if they'd split the workshop into more visibly distinct categories. Then all the scammers with their crappy skin-ad AIM maps can dominate their niche while people with actual talent get their own as welll.

Wow, a lot has changed from the version I played months ago in the workshop. Great job.

    What are your specs, RivFader?

Not at my PC atm, I can link them to you this evening. But I am playing with everything on low iirc.

Sounds like I need to pay Gardaland a new visit. But enough of that rollercoaster talk or else people might think we are even bigger nerds than we already are :P

In any case, this map will be fun in operation MM. Looking forward to it a lot. It's just a shame that there are no skin collections specifically designed for the operation maps, that would lend itself to some awesome themes.

Thank you, I was at Gardaland once years ago but don't remember it that clearly. I thought the mine train was a Mack first but Vekoma's mine trains are quite similar, haha.

May I ask which rollercoasters you used for reference? Wyvern reminds me of a ride in the Heide Park, which i visited this year.

This is the new visual standard for CSGO maps, by far the most impressive looking map I have seen so far. I'm just stunned. Looks like an amazing layout as well, this has huge potential.

However, I also found two instances of textures bugging out on my (I admit, very old) desktop PC when I was running around. But still, 10/10 release.
