Both of you have valid points, something we considered actually. However, it's not used that often anyway and most things that do get posted barely get replies. So that's why we've decided to drop it entirely. I do want to point out that @Quotingmc made some excellent suggestions regarding our user profile contact information. It's ancient. It still uses fields for AOL, MSN, ICQ, etc. Do you know anybody that still uses that? I don't. I would like to see that changed to stuff like Twitter, Facebook, Steamid, Origin, Battlenet, PSN, Xbox Live, etc. That should give you enough options to find and follow someone so you can see their status

i have to protest I still have my AOL adress ;) but yeah good idea though :)

Keep up the good work :)

I think i'm part autistic as well

I got tested for dyslexia when I was 13 or something and I had do to a lot of tests among with a group of other people from the school that where expected to have dyslexia. One of tests was for spatial awareness and I was done with it crazy fast. I gave it to the one giving the tests and he was really surprised I was done so quick. Later when they had the results back I heard I was by the 2% or 1% (can't remember) of the best from the people in the Netherlands that did the spacial awareness test. I think mapping at that age also helped a lot on the test

Now I wonder if it was 1%, how many questions there where, and what question(s) i had wrong.

we all are to some extent (don't get me started on that I have a report on that matter for next week :p)

But kudos to you, that's something! I have scored on the top 0.1 percent of the population on another test, thus I know how special it is, you can be proud :)

@FMPONE , you're right, but earning money is also equivalent to succeeding academically for parents, it's for them the sign you will end up doing something with your life, which will allow you to live happily :)

You guys should choose a better neighborhood: in my parents city there are petitions because a fountain after 22:00 is too loud to everyone in a radius of 500m ;)

Seldon asked me to share if Etienne Klein did a conference about terror management

and I answered him that I'd gladly share what I've learned but that I am not allowed to share the video of the conference for legal reasons.

Then I explained that it wouldn't be Klein making the conference about terrorism and the middle east crisis, but researchers in philosophy, history and geopolitics, and that I am in the dark about the schedule since the school is handling it because students like me don't have enough credit to invite them, and that the only people we can invite are presidential candidates or minister, or Cac 40 CEO, or artists, even if on some rare occasions we manage to invite researchers and I gave an exemple of a french economics researcher who visited us for a conference on capitalism!

A small scale defuse map for 5v5 or 10v10 matchmaking. Currently in progress, so things might (and will) change over time (ex: props, paths sounds, textures etc.)

The detailing of the map has not begun yet, mostly because I've been working on gameplay/side balancing things. So I would love some feedback and suggestions.

(btw, can someone, please, make a radar file + screenshot for me, since I don't have a 1024 pixel monitor, thus my attempts become f-d up )

    WORKSHOP LINK (more screens+download): http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/fi…s/?id=487172748

    Thank YOU!

you can make the radar by putting your screen format to 4:3 then for the cl_leveloverviewmarker you put the number of the lowest number between the two of the resolution. Personnally I have 1024*768 so I put in 768. Then you load it up in gimp or photoshop to crop the useless part at the right of the marker, then scale it up from 768*768 to 1024*1024, if you have taken the same resolution as I do. Hope it helps!

No, there will not be an election. We are approaching some people though. We might post something for everyone interested to respond to. It's still being discussed. I take it you are interested?

I'm always happy to help, but as a staff member I wouldn't have any skills to offer.

I could however see myself helping for stuff like control quality for playtests, for instance!

That's actually a really good question. First fthibg that popped in my mind was: "not dust2" and then... I don't know why but I always liked the feel of Halo 3:ODST city. It is what's for now what feels closer to it in my head !

Aww man your quite lucky to have that guy as a teacher :)

You know i've never been the kind of person who was respecting people because of their social statuses or their grade, I value people for what they are doing, and the issue is that I have no clue about geopolitics at all, so I can't really say "booo this guy suck so bad, my grandma could do it better than him", I mean i'm worthless in this field and I accept it without trying to be a smartass.

So i'm all mixed about that atm, do we all have to know everything about anything to be sure that we are not fooled, or do we have to put our thrust in people who actually know their stuff about that, while not bothering and focus on the things that you enjoy ?

If you want to give everyone on earth the right to weigh in the political decisions, you have to be sure that they are aware of the real situation, and a tons of other factors, which means that everyone on earth has to respect their duties and be aware of every situations, which is impossible. So we end up like in the "Who wants to be a millionaire" TV show, when the public has to vote, it's always funny to see that people actually vote, while they have no clue at all about the answer, and you end up with mitigated answers while it should be 100% on one, i'm not a huge fan of television tbh, but this one is always fun :_)

On the other hand, I don't accept when some rulers of my country are, in my opinion, making a bad decision.

So I don't know actually, this system isn't bad while it has some flaws, i'm not a huge fan of politics anyway, i'm the kind of guy who thinks that I can live without being aware of politics decisions, except when they seems to be a mistake to my eye, but in the end, I'm not qualified to judge.

well he is Impressive to have in class or in conference

@Seldoon182 yeah he is a former student of my school and has been teaching here for years!

We had an initiative in our university to try to have the input of specialists of geopolitics and such, in order to better understand the issues of our time, especially those related to middle east, I'll keep you in the loop if you want!

"You exactly fulfill the theory of conformism"

I'm not a conformist or anything like that, I just accept the fact that sometimes, I just don't know. When you need an engineer to build your house, are you going to study engineering to be sure that he his doing his work properly and not trying to kill you ? I hope you don't.

That's how we reached that level in society, because we trust each other, should we ? Well you never know, but some things can give you clues if you should trust someone or not.

And we come again to that point of view example I gave, that's why politic is hard, because you have to bear with people who don't share the same point of view, there's so many parameters to take that it is nearly impossible to give a right answer for everyone. Social interaction eh, just look at the european parliament ...

Anyway here's a small bit of a talk from Klein who explain in a better way what i've said, and he quite dismiss what I tryed to explain, but on the other hand it clearly show the issue, we all have to share the same point of view if we want to find an absolute truth. 10.27 - 12.30, his example works great for physics, however, for social interactions, it's more though :p.
