It looks great but now you have even more clutter right on the choke! you really should remove that scaffold as it's going to make A entries horrible. the damaged wall needs to be rebuilt in such a way it doesn't screw visibility too- something jack mentioned in the playtest.

Just now you have 1-way visibility advantaging the defenders. AND on top of that you've added some props with metal railing to block shots...

Feedback remains largely the same as my last post. I'd probably add the below though

    • Dodgy timings. T spawn needs to be further back. so the CTs have set up time.
    • We found a bullshit plant on A. you can plant in between 3-4 props at the back of site.
    • Props on B make gameplay annoying. remove/replace nitro boxes for example.

Make the theme fit the layout rather than the layout fit the theme. Making roads etc to a 'real world' layout doesn't work unless you put props etc on top as a kind of 'overlay' to make the gameplay work - see overpass/chinatown/marquis for examples of how other mappers have done this. All have realistic roads that have had props and brushwork added as an overlay to corral sightlines and player pathing.

You want a solid layout with a believable theme rather than a believable layout with a solid theme

I fail to see how I could be categorised as a martyr, like I said before - I back up my claims with arguments, unless they're refuted I'm not changing my opinion. That's how a discussion works.

For the third time now, I DO agree on having a form. I'm happy you realised that what I'm going for is privacy. Some people prefer to have their work private and I'm happy it's an option, because on the form, it states that the portfolio is optional and the MapCore thread is a must, we wouldn't even be talking right now if what you said was stated there.

I don't think playtests should be a witch hunt about deciding who does and who doesn't follow feedback, just like the ideas of the creator, feedback may be flawed and ultimately it's what the mapper wants that should shape the end result. You can give feedback in game, privately, the maker can be selective who he wants feedback from, which like I said before, makes a MapCore thread unnecessary/optional. Analogy: you're asking the creator to make his idea out of clay so other people can deform it without his consent.

Coming back to my earlier point of "doing it your way". Some people don't listen to feedback, that's up to them,

    Come on...

Simple as this- if you want to playtest your map on a public server then you should have no qualms about privacy. your BSP is going to be getting downloaded by 20+ people to be deconstructed and analysed, this is what a playtest basically is.

A thread being posted beforehand doesn't just help the Admins (the guys providing this free service) to ensure the maps being tested meet a minimum standard but also introduces the map to the playtesters too so they can decide if they want to partake in a playtest or not. Flaws may be pointed out too so a playtest doesn't occur that wastes 19 peoples time.

I understand your point but I think your logic is flawed.

I think the changes are great in that it will actually make the mappers spend more time on their maps, making sure they work before submitting them on the form. This may discourage some people from applying, but you win some you lose some.

The only problem I see with this is that you appareantly NEED a Mapcore thread. What if the person submitting doesn't want his map to be public at the time of the playtest? Not everybody wants to document their progress and I fail to see the why having a MapCore thread of your map is necessary when you have to state the "Additional info" and "Goal of the playtest".

if he (or she! you sexist ) doesn't want thier map to be public why would they do a public playtest?

Having a form to fill in and intentions to state will probably filter out a lot of the rushed_to_playtest deals. if people are discouraged from a playtest by a 12 field form then the playtest will probably be a waste of time too.

Great changes. Do you think the feedback plugin could highlight the 'goal' of each playtest during warmup? Just a thought

I think it the social club thing is a drag on the overall performance.

Meh couldn't justify spending another 50-60 on a mobo on top of the processor costs just now to be honest. it's a decent update from the mobo+processor it has just now

    Intel Core i5 4690K 3.5GHz - 6MB Cache

make it easier for Terrorists to see the roof area when coming from T spawn compared to CTs coming from the other bombsite. Just now I would say it's the opposite.

The problem with roof access is that I'm pretty sure the CTs can use it too. Instead of balancing the area you've made it more difficult for the Ts.

if you can find a way of making it more obvious to Ts incoming without affecting the rotates from the other site?
