Have you considered that you are basically cloning pillars to "carve" the windows? I hope you are not pressing that "carve" button in the editor, the most non-useful tool ever from my experience. Use vertical cuts done with the clipping tool set on the third setting (the one that will leave you with both parts of the brush you are cutting). When you adjust you adjust just one end of the facade, then clone the brush and cut where you need the windows.

And also think that this extreme annoyance is helping you concentrating on the layout without detouring in the art touches

I haven't played the map but the suggestion about the rooms seems sound, and you can find different ways to break a linesight: you can lay some crates, pillars around, and more importantly stretch corridors. Just run around de_cache, several big rooms are broken down by crates

When I said carve, I meant cut/clip. I can't remember the last time I used the carve tool!

I would do the first cut horizontally as it would line up with other windows on the same face otherwise it would create awkward brushes around the doorways below, but I'll give it a shot.

Having had a break and coming back to it, I've changed a few game play features now based on feedback. Typically the rooms should be fairly small with very thick walls and low ceilings as per the architecture, so having a large room and sticking boxes in it isn't really keeping to the theme, even though it would be a lot easier. The larger, wooden, multi-story structures are generally "special" and overusing them would be inaccurate.

I think I get the idea why valve haven't implemented this theme on a larger scale...

Windows 8 doesn't need modding... You press the windows key on <8 and you had a menu, now that menu is just full screen which I don't even use it, I boot straight to desktop and to access things like control panel, right click the start button and you get a full range of tools.

If you know anything about windows and it's window key shortcuts, win8 is just a better OS.

Running 2 versions of skype isn't necessarily bad as it just allows you to run it the way you use win8, you can also launch chrome in "windows 8 mode" which is super useful /sarcasm

The only thing I'm sad about is the removal of the windows indexing system, but that's seriously trivial.

I think Microsoft have received an unfair amount of flak for win8. People expected this to be a bad release and have done nothing but look for things wrong with it

Version 9 to drop soon (I reinstalled CSGO + SDK on work laptop so you know it's crunch time!)

Things to note ahead of release:

    • The "verticality" of the entire map has been reduced. A lot of the ramps (soon to be stairs) were just too tall and aids in reducing the height advantage CTs generally have
    • Reworked CT spawn connections to mid and A
    • Detailing has started - say hello to some textures!
    • Pesky trees have been adjusted to not interfere with gameplay

I'll arrange a map test soooooon

  • Best website host?

    • jackophant
    • January 7, 2015 at 11:47 AM

I use siteground, an american based company with global hosting. They're a feature rich host and have 24/7 support. They also have a a range of pricing options depending on the intended size of the site.

They support lots of different CMS's all complete with autoinstallers: Wordpress, Joomla, Magento, Drupal etc!

Having said that, Gandi seems like a good shout, I've not heard of them before, but then I'm a noob

I remember that screenshot. I really liked that model. It looked so smooth for that time. Was the game any fun?

I grew up on half life and all the mods surrounding it so I probably have biased memories, but the bad guy who looks like Ron Pearlman / General Patton, the out of control AI you team up with who eventually gets her own body as well, the variety of environments. I loved it!

Gunman Chronicles was amazing! I loved that game back in the day. I liked the introduction on the space station with the elevator that went in all different directions.

I forgot about that! I remember loving the chemical gun which you could tweak the pressure and varying levels of chemicals in each shot.

I only started Gunman, then for some reason I couldn't pick it up to finish it; it was a bit boring when I was playing it. I wanted to play it with the move to Steam, but I remember it wasn't accepting the serial at the time.

Buddy, you missed out! Obviously people aren't going to like every game, but I think it's a gem.

Gunman Chronicles sadly never made it to steam I would love to see it picked up again. Probably would be better as a Source remake than a sequel.

what happens?! D: (tell me in spoilers?)

I know you can hang around in the dining area and Pagan Min eventually comes back. Although I have no idea how you are expected to kill him seeing as you have no weapon.

Some parts were very linear, but I just loved this so much

Such an eclectic mix of environments! I was probably too young to really know if this was a "good" game, but it has dinosaurs, robots, cow boys and space!

Sadly I can't find any good "signature" images.

EDIT: It's Gunman Chronicles if anyone needs reminding

For someone who truly needs that level of portability the price is worth it, and with those specs, you'll be set for a good few years.

I hope you are happy with your purchase but be sure to strap it down, it looks like it might take off!

I live for the recurve bow. Managed to make a >60m shot with it! Just unlocked the predator and bushmaster as well so my stealth level is fast approaching >9000

I've only done 1 golden path mission but have finished all the bell towers, outposts and the 2 fortresses before gaining access to the north.

The elephants are great to ride around on with full access to your arsenal but do not stand up well to pagan min's "revenge convoys" i even got the elephants to be painted

But seriously, most OP thing ive come across is the thumper/grenade launcher sidearm. That plus a buzzer and molotovs is just ridiculous but only if you fly outside vertical range of MG placements.

New play test changes look good, particularly the 12 rounds each side; Winning team from previous half gets full play of other team is a dream come true!

And can we have block on as standard? Makes for more thorough map testing, especially as I imagine most people are aiming their map to be competitive.

I had a work placement at an "Architectural Visualisation Studio" that used modo back in 2008. It was the first 3D modelling software I had ever used and I found it fairly easy to use.

I also had to use 3D$Max at uni, but IT spent more time making it work than me using the bloody thing. Their website is atrocious as well, could not get a non-corrupt download ever using various browsers.

It's the first time I've had the pleasure of playing the map, but it seems that CTs have a very strong advantage at B, and T's can pinch from mid and A long very easily.

It was most likely the large number of people that skewed the balance but I think I was full white flashed about 6 times in a row as a T on B at it's worse, 3 times if i was lucky ( <- imagine that with a sad face, I needed me some!)

The detailed areas look beautiful! With the wooden trellis by the pink tiled area near CT spawn, will you plan to make that a prop with wood properties? right now nothing slows bullets down and it can kind of be a one way advantage with vision.

Anyone else want in? I promise full buy shotgun rush rounds and 5 man deagle stacks.

I wonder when someone will have the balls to make a game about playing a pedophile serial killer in an open world environment.

But freedom of speech and creativity right?

    Activities include:

    • public masturbation outside schools during lunch breaks
    • public masturbation by public playgrounds
    • setting up hidden cameras
    • real time grooming
    • wear a long trench coat
    • grow a patchy moustache

As long as it's satirical right? Not that it seems to make a difference anymore...

Before you know it, they'll have a simulator of this recent Pakistani massacre. But hey, let's greenlight that too because it's fun!
