    Don't make me blush

Carrying isn't effective and can be extremely stressful. I'm much more for organising strats around the players available.

If your aim is one of the worst on the team, I'll stick you where aiming isn't so vital. If you're slow to rotate, I'll keep you central etc.

A default setup is always massively helpful as well so people have a sense of purpose at the beginning of a round rather than floating around unsure because someone hasn't called a strat.

As vaya says, even some of the pros are only LEM, but that's probably more because they don't bother with mm in the first place

I haven't played csgo in 2 weeks, I am ITCHING to click some heads!

people are hung up on this idea that number of hours equates to a rank. I have no idea where it's come from though. I know people who were ranked at GE after their 10 games, and some people who are still silver after thousands of hours. All I know is that this mapcore team is gonna be awesome

ooooooh, i wouldnt mind one of those! I was looking at a Raspberry Pi 2 mini steam machine as a little project at home, but now, depending on price I might just go for this!

It probably doesn't look like much compared to last version, but I assure you I've been plodding along with brushwork and a few competitive tweaks

I'm happy with it at least! (maybe it'll be finished in 3 operations time? lol)

Yes, if i'm not wrong It's the successor to the OpenGL. Valve is into it because they can't stand being dependant of DirectX and Microsoft tools, i guess it's also due to their SteamMachines (which runs on their SteamOS that is basicaly a Linux OS with SteamBigPicture runing on it).

The thing is that the conference name is "The Future of High Performance Graphics", so there might be some really interesting demos there

I can and have listened to others while keeping silent myself. It's just that 2 headsets, 2 hardware specialist visits later, I have no willpower to try and fix my microphone problem.

Not that I consider myself a specialist by any stretch of the imagination, but when I get back I'll gladly have a poke around using teamviewer or something, to see if I can help out if you want?

I'd be glad to join if voice communication isn't required, PC problems and stuff. I'm DMG/MGE btw.

I wouldn't say required, but it does make the game easier for the group. But just being in the voice chat room of choice at least means we don't have to rely on the awful in game communication

    Hi guys, greetings from Australia!

I'm away atm, but I'm happy to make a mapcore CSGO group, unless one of the more qualified admins/staff wants to instead?

I've started playing CSGO a lot recently, I'm not great but I'd be interested too.

That's fine, I get the impression not too many people here have been exposed to the more competitive side of CS, and what I hope is that some exposure to this could benefit everyone, specifically in the interests of mapping.

If people are interested, add me!

they seem to have scrapped that level system. Instead they use the league system that was previously only available to paying customers.

So you're now going to be unranked, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond or Master. This way you know if you were to start a premium account which league you would be in.

Either way, I'm not bothered by rank just as long as people are up for a laugh and can work together

I like this idea a lot. Was fun playing with you before.

Faceit over MM is always a good shout as it takes rank out of the equation.

I have a teamspeak server we/whoever can use (10 slots so could be used for 5 vs 5 internal games)

Faceit still has ranking, just it's own system.

MapCore have their own mumble as listed in RZL's signature and I have access to another TS server aswell, 20 slots or so, but as long we keep the various haunts documented, it'll all work out.

It would be pretty casual to start off with, no skill requirements or anything like that. Just a chance for a few mapcorians to play CS together outside of the maptests.

The idea is very much in it's infancy, but I just thought I'd put the idea out there for feedback.

There wouldn't be a strict roster, just a free form group of people to play a game with, maybe take part in some leagues or just risk matchmaking. We could post results of games, and even host 5v5 invitationals for other clans to play us on the new potential operation maps. Those of us who can stream can do so as well (on the basis that the person whose map it is has given permission), and post the videos on twitch/youtube as potential publicity for the map and try and encourage more people to take the operation maps more seriously.

We could even bet against ourselves and throw matches for profit

TL;DR: How would people feel about making a MapCore CS:GO team?

    EDIT:

There has been talk of using a 3rd party league. I personally suggest faceit!

It's pretty easy to use, just follow these steps:

    • Go to faceit.com to sign up
    • You must choose CSGO as a game if you want to play
    • Set the region as EU (unless we are all same region, we are unable to find a match)
    • Enter your steam_ID as validation (type status in console during a game to find this)
    • Add jackophant to be available for party invites
    • Tell me to invite you to the MapCore CSGO premade team

When we do play a game, make sure to select a league with which to be entered into (for free accounts that's the daily and weekly leagues). Unfortunately you have to choose this every time you sign in for now, but I believe change is on it's way.

For the game to commence, the party leaders enter a vote system to determine server location and map choice. Faceit then automatically configures a server and provides the connection information. You can launch the game through a big orange "PLAY NOW" button, or can copy the connection info and manually access it within csgo which I advise as the launcher seems to cause performance issues.

I missed the first 2 days, at which point I decided nothing rather than only be able to garner enough points to get bronze. I regret this decision.

I'm going to run csgo in window mode (1280x720) so i can play pick 'em as well!

i can't believe i didn't bother doing the last one kept missing it!

I agree with vaya that is a pretty huge sight line, even with boxes and things to block line of sight, it would be pretty hard on optimisation.

tbh, I think you've done more than enough planning. You now need to block it out in hammer because you can draw all day but it's not going to prepare you for how it works in 3D space.
