yes, this fixed it, i had i light that was flickering. thanks for your help. but is there a way to have flickering or pulsing lighting in csgo that dosent have this effect?

Unfortunately, as Spence mentioned, you can't have toggle-able lights (named) or with special effects (strobe, flicker, etc) in CSGO HDR lighting otherwise you'll end up with this black patch as you have experienced.

A simple workaround is to have a glow sprite near the light source to which you can apply special effects without CSGO going berserk.

I agree the show is really really good. But I'm wondering how much of the show is going to be ruined or limited by the fact that we know how it ends. I can't stop thinking about that...

While we do know how it all "ends", I do believe this show is all about the journey, not the destination as I mentioned in my previous post.

Seeing the minute details (which Vince Giligan mastered in breaking Bad) of the transformation of Jimmy to Saul will be the real show.

I wouldn't worry about the show being "ruined" by the fact that we already know what will be of Saul in the end ; the first 2 episodes are a clear indication that it's goona be quite a journey ahead.

I watched the first 2 episodes of Better call Saul; they're good in their own terms regardless of the "remote" link to Breaking Bad. And I agree with Puddy: Jimmy currently is a "different" character from Saul, the one we know from breaking bad and it would be interesting to watch his metamorphosis along the episodes.

Anyone here watched the pilot episode of "Better Call Saul" yesterday?

Will probably get to it this weekend; heard good reviews about it and how it's on par with Breaking Bad (to be expected honestly with Odenkirk/Banks in the cast and Giligan at the helm)

Why do you need both of these in Counterstrike? Why would you mix two in the same map most importantly?

I can think of one draw back to the player clip, and maybe this is a game bug I don't know. When you nav_generate, mesh will go outside of the player clip brushes. So why player clip?

    [Blocked Image: http://static.mapcore.org/public/style_i…/attachicon.gif]2015-02-06_00003.jpg

They are the same in Counter-Strike with the added benefit of clip in preventing the nav meshes from overflowing outside the clip brushes.

For this reason, use only clip brushes (unless you want to manually delete nav areas from the non playable area when using player clips)

O yeah, for the size. It doesnt have to be insane huge. 3x3 times the size of dust2 will do.

As everyone mentioned, CryEngine and UnrealEngine should be good choices for urban landscapes.

If you're feeling a little adventurous, you can still use Source since the overall size is only 3 times the size of dust2.

Of course, you would need to have many props to circumvent the brushwork limit in Source and you would need solid optimization to render only necessary parts of the map and avoid fps slide shows but it's doable if other engines are not an option at the moment (licensing fees, no time to learn, etc...)

    Good luck

Very nice theme and execution so far

The biggest concern in this theme, where I agree with Deholise, would be the vivid, colorful and noisy shopfronts (as can be seen in your reference photo #3): people blend in and are hardly discernable on the spot in real life (photo), let alone in CS

One way to counter this is to have some of the stores closed or semi closed (metal rolling doors) or have stores with simple fronts (glass panels/metal frame) with minimal to no signs and have all the fancy colorful signs above player height (top of storefront or on first floor of the building)

Of course, that doesn't mean that you shouldn't have some colorful storefronts here and there but try to keep it under control for the sake of gameplay.

    Best of luck

A preview of a little panorama picture i made yesterday at sunset No color correction so far. Just merged the images together. I'll show you the finished version in 1-2 weeks when i'm back home.

I like the "rule of thirds" composition in this pic and I really dig the fiery outburst of the sunset color; nice shot

It could use a bit of HDR toning to bring the details on the dim beach or on the contrary, play with levels to further dim/darken and hide beach details.

Plenty of possibilities especially if you shot it in RAW; looking forward to see the end results in 2 weeks
