Are you on PC? Haven't really gave it much thought on PS4, tho jesus the camera is close to this guy sometimes and the aiming zooms way passed the player model to almost a quasi-first person view. Wish it was pulled back just a bit.

I know... it's like, what the fuck were they thinking? lmao

I tried to force through it tho, and I'm glad I did. I'm 9 hours in, and fuck this game has a lot of creativity and originality being thrown at you at all times. It's not without it's issues but damn the game designers keep throwing awesome shit at you in every single level so far.

Oh and I got it for PS4 after hearing some people complaining about perf issues on PC, and my home PC is getting kinda dated now. You get used to the low FoV after a while, I know it's a "by design" decision, a really bad one, but whatever...

I heard that the levels are really closed and that insivle walls are everywhere, that there're not so much leeway than they announced. Is that true?

Btw, I'm playing Forza Horizon 2 these days. This is truely an excellent racing game. The gameplay is great, the environments are wonderful, and the multiplayer game is really really fun. May be my GOTY!

Got the new Jamie Cullum's album made of Jazz classics but this guy is really talented. The two songs with Laura Mvula and Gregory Porter are just crazy.

MEN MEN MEN *running in circles*. COUNT ME IN. UE4 all the way. Any type of blueprint scripting, from networking implementation to core gameplay features and architecture building with Interfaces (even a little bit of Animation Blueprint). I'm your men . I'm reading a little about C++... but that would be more on Alex side I guess (Hey Alex lol).

Anybody got an idea about what Source Control we should use ? (Was that discussed ? I should read the whole thread carefully).

    Copy/paste that from the doc:

I have several questions that may not have answers right now but they could bring some ideas:

    • Do we play an adult? a child? a man? a woman? an alien?
    • Then, can we have particular powers or abilities ?
    • Do we want something deeply serious or can we do something with a little bit of humor ? I was thinking about some H2G2 stuff, that we could introduce the game with some character’s routine as if he/she was an engineer that travels from stations to station for some reason until this particular station.
    • Could we do something Portal style? alone in a space station with some simple gameplay mecanics, and bouncing and gravity dynamic change and opera music. That’d match with with the H2G2 humor.
    • So, humoristic space thriller ? We could meet silly aliens doing silly things

I think it would be cool not to make a mainstream dark thriller in space with some scientists dudes in your crew that will die one after an other in mysterious ways. Hundreds of books are like this, like hundred of movies, and a bunch of games too.

Writing a good scenario is difficult and it takes time. Humor is even more difficult but it’s worth it and that’s something that can really hook the player rather than telling him an umpeeth deep space tragedy.

Right now we don't have a Mac nor an ios dev account but as we want to spread the game all over the world, we'll probably work on it.

    But first, we need colors!

It's time to show tje world what I'm working on here.

So, Ultraflow is a mobile game. The main gameplay mecanic is to throw a ball in a hole. Very simple, right ? It's so simple that it allows me and my mates to do every that comes to our heads. You have a limited number of bounces to complete each levels. No score. No timer. The only challenge is your smoothness.

    Here some gifs

The game will have about a hundred levels and a procedural mode.

We plan to launch the game at the end of november, first on Android. We don't know yet if it will be a premium or a freemium game, so if you guys have some advice about that, let's talk. Same thing if you have some tricks for marketing.

Oh and the UI is just some dev stuff of course it'll disappear.

AND we'll add some colors too.

    So, share your thoughts!

I'm in for an exploration game, Ala Dear Esther. With some puzzle like Vivis was doing on Source few years ago !

Imagine a game, mixing Mirror Edge for the climbing part and Dear Esther/Last of Us for the nature environment : you have to make your way throught a ruined city (designed as a corridor, idc that much )

    Quote from RaVaGe

Agree with Em', imo we should make something different, something without weapons like portal 2, like that since we are a mapping community, we will take way less time to try to tweak the AI and gameplay, and just focus on the level design and art.

I want something in space though, don't know why

We could do something into a civilized center of the Earth, with a spheric world, looking up and see big cities and great monuments. We could travel with giant lifts or cableway right to the other side of the planet

Oohh i haven't finish properly but it's enough (i've moved this week son i'm KO).

I had some issues with the ligthing and the brushes. It's not very polished, it's absolutely not optimized but i'll do that an other day.

Anyway, i wanted to Thank you all for this challenge. It bas been a great time, i've learned so much things from you guys in LD techniques and process. Thank you.

So, here are somme screenshots of my map.

I'll post a walkthrough vidéo in a few days when i'll get back the internet on my PC.

And the working files will be in the submission thread. It's probably not the more interesting map to analyse, unless you want to see all the things that you shouln't do.

And once à gain, THANK YOU.

Trying out some additions as the gameplay was all over the place. Imbalanced amount of trickjumps and mid-air 'dogfights' compared to close combat.

The ledge rails redirect movement to the bridges and decrease the flat open area.

The bridge itself is added so the long pathway is interrupted, lift removed, liftjumping to the bridge is easy with regular lift jump. Before you could only reach the roof with a hard dodge-liftjump. Now it's also easy to get to if your on the far right side. You're not forced to take the lift or jump pad.

As for the lighting in this area; I did not attend to it yet. It's rather dull now.

Still need to add props too.
