  • CS:GO Patch 1/23/13 - Workshop

It's quite fun, judging by the hour or so of it I played.

    - cs_siege_go_rc2_v1

I think it was pretty good, but we didn't really get a chance to try it. I would like to try it more at another time.

    - de_ruins_a2

I love the middle of it, it's very interesting with the bridge so high off the ground and everything, but the sites need a bit of work, A is pretty good, but I would do something about the double doors to it, it seemed to make it more CT sided. B was very T sided. I would probably add another way into the site as CT to try and make it more unpredictable for Ts.

    - de_seibal_a3

Add some visual landmarks, the current look of it is really samey, thus pretty confusing. Dev textures also go a long way for readability. The spot above A was a little weird with how I couldn't get through it, but I could shoot through it.

    - de_capistrano_b3

I would adjust the clipping so you can walk on the roofs and jump out the windows. I would consider adding some light to the window above B on the radar (The sites are labeled opposite) so you can see maybe a silhouette of an enemy, as it's currently very blind. I would also consider closing off a few spots, as it's a bit complicated at the moment. I would change any brush doors to prop doors just so they don't blend in to the rest of the map, it's more obvious that it's functional.

the workshop is very easy to upload to and its a lot easier for other people to play your map if you give them the workshop link

i'm not quite ready to put it there. If you upload an early map there, it tends to lose a lot of popularity, and you have to deal with people complaining because it's not done.

One of my first, and still favorite games:

    [Blocked Image: http://blog.8bitlibrary.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/800px-super_mario_64_box_cover.jpg]

There is just something about the physics that makes it so fun to play still, it's a bit like quake in that respect, the movement is pretty basic, yet so deep (and not to mention fast).

Rat maps: the game. A surprisingly good licensed game. It really inspired me to start mapping (though I finally started when discovering a Lego indie game with an easy to access editor).

I rented this long ago for n64, and rediscovered it after seeing a cabinet of it at an arcade, then rediscovered it again when I learned there was still a pc community for it. There is no game like it, the physics are just like real rc cars, so it's just crazy, and really, how many other games actually take place at that scale?

I played with it a bit (going back to Hammer was a bit disappointing), sadly, I would get an error every time I tried to load gfx.wad from my Quake pak file (Invalid mip dimensions?).

It looks great! I'd suggest making the upper walkways have a slight curve to them.

I've been detailing this little spot for a new CS:GO map, and I really like how it's turned out. Instancing buildings and putting rotation on them really improves the look of it.

I'd be up for a test soon, I have a layout I've been waiting to test for a while.

I was confused as to what exactly I should be including, so I have bz2s of the bsp and nav as well as the plain versions.

The coral/pink color in image 1 looks a bit out of place, imo. The darker red in image 2 also looks a bit off, I would consider switching the two textures around. Otherwise, it's looking really nice.

Unskippable intro cutscenes. At least let me have a taste of what the gameplay is before you start telling me a story.

Hello, everyone! I'm new here, and what's a better way of introducing myself than showing off my map?

It's a remake of de_stadium_cz from Counter-Strike: Condition Zero for CSGO! This was my first time ever making my own textures for the tiles and signs, which I think turned out nicely.
