That hair and the DoF, it hurts. The technical art is certainly made for TVs.

Now, where do I do that?

The whole ranking system makes no sense. It's odd that it has stuck around in this form for so long, while being so pointless and broken (and while other games did it way better). Also this browser client is so shitty it's amazing. You cannot alt tab, it just steals back focus. Also, you cannot report people, which is a bit ridiculous, especially when someone punctuates every death with bigotry. That being said, the game's still fun.

weird choice of music for quake
~relax with quake~
Quake vids with chill music are pretty regular nowadays, I think they go surprisingly well together.
Did they just change the announcer voice to sound like a 16 year old trying entirely too hard?

If rename, will make wrong with bsp file, example orginal name is de_toscan, rename to de_toscan1, map will need long time to creat new NAV file, and radar will lose
And in addition to all this, the cubemaps also break. Basically, never rename a map file. It kind of sucks that we're between two different systems with CS:GO, so one takes a single map name and works from there, and the other cannot deal with that.
Can u fix my problem ?
Hi All
I have a big problems with map in server CS:GO, i'm download so many map from gamebanana (there maps dont available in workshop) and put them to csgo/maps on my server and using FastDL. Well, people download and play it OK.
BUT
When a map have an update, I'm download update verison from gamebanana, then replaced old version for csgo/maps and fastDL.... my clients must delete old version if they want play this map on my server, if not, they can not play [Blocked Image: https://forums.alliedmods.net/images/smilies/frown.gif]
So...how am I gonna tell my clients that they have to delete old version when map updated ?
I don't have a solution other than for the people making the maps correctly titling them when not uploading to the Workshop.

Dream on, because if R* gets a port right this time around, it will be a first.
Well, Max Payne 3 was pretty good at the time. It's a bit wonky now (at least on Windows 8 ), but still pretty damn decent. That even released while the game was still relevant too!

What's with every deathmatch server and having a twelve year old wanting to live out their Reddit dreams and swear at everyone trying to get them not to use a gun? It'd be nice if Valve would moderate their community.

Yeah, they said it would release in the fall. That's a super shitty move.

PC version releases next year. Is rockstar kidding? How do you be this bad at making pc versions?

Today's update updated scaleform and other bits for the Linux port (yay!) and also completely broke the game. Scaleform is a quality product that definitely doesn't fuck up every game it touches.

It looks like valve also made their own system.
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2389…e-use-for-steam
I'm not sure if that's still the case though. Some answers on there indicate the whole thing might be running inside a browser.
steam still uses VGUI, but for the store and such they just have a web frame, and big picture mode is yet another ui of its own in SDL2. Source 2's tools are on qt though. Also modern source games don't use VGUI (as they did from HL1 to Portal 2), they use scaleform. Basically valve said fuck it a few years ago or so.

Is it not hooked up at anything really? I think Sony has a free(?) game engine since many years, I remember finding about an OpenGL engine from them when I was dwelling into their site…
Uh?
I know about native support for Linux (and Mac)… but development on the penguin, is it really happening?UE4 and Source 2 are moving to support it, Unity already does. Cryengine is supporting Linux, I don't know if that includes the editor though. That's most of the engines that people are getting the tools to, that's pretty incredible. -
Yeah, just a tool (in the spirit of ATF itself) to not waste time making a custom level editor. I find it odd how it's dependent upon C#/Windows though, with most engines/tools moving away from it.

Is that an art style thing though? I really need to play GTA5 but I'm holding out for a next gen release.
I would say art style, I played both games on a PC monitor, and can easily say Uncharted 3 looks way better. GTAV looks nice, but when you look closer, it's a bit of a mess. Ambient occlusion doesn't look so nice up close, and the cascaded shadow map falloff is ridiculous. Also GTAV tends to be a "one size fits all" in terms of shaders/effects, while Uncharted has a bunch of one-off type stuff. Can't wait to see how GTAV looks like when it isn't stuck to the requirements of a PS3 though.
