To be fair, its hard to compare the Hobbit films to the Lord of the Rings because the Hobbit is just not as good of a story as LOTR. It's a little fairy tale-type story with a very whimsical tone where the characters face danger but are never actually harmed. It's pretty impressive what they've done with it so far though, but it was never going to be able to stack up against LOTR.

I'm really loving the borderlands look on the slum. But I think the harbor has some inconsistent texturing (some textures are way noisier and more realistic than others) and the sci-fi tank model looks cool but the scene itself is boring.
Good work though

I actually quite like COD and Battlefield, but I don't like Battlefield's attempts to be like COD because it usually ends up being a middle ground between the two that isn't as fun as either.

The style is cool, but the top floor of the building definitely looks like too much. It's really topheavy and weirdly shaped.

Timesplitters. Those games were so much goddamn fun to play splitscreen and holy shit if they were released on a modern platform with full online features...

Me and my friend who got fed up with the beta went to play some bad company 2, still a massive amount of servers. Still a great game. Tanks handle so much better as well. Bleh.
Everything felt better in BC2 I think. They made everything so much smoother and faster in BF3 to address the clunkiness of BC2, but I think they went too far and it encourages people to do a lot more run-and-gunning like fucking bullet ninjas. Also it felt like they took BC2-sized maps and put them in a game with mechanics designed for much larger maps, so lots of the maps became gigantic vehicle clusterfucks and were reduced to rubble 10 minutes into the match.
Also the community was really bad in BF3 and plays exclusively instant respawn 50000 ticket operation metro 24/7. That game disappointed the shit out of me after how much I loved BC2 and the earlier battlefields.

When I'm looking at the screenshots the captions are incredibly tiny. Up that font size

I like nuke because I don't like the standard de map layout enough to play exclusively minor variations of it for like 10 years.

Fully dynamic bounce lighting would be absurdly expensive wouldnt it? Or has some super bitchin engine of the future solved that problem already

The advantage being that you dont need to wait an hour to see what your lights look like in-game.

"This looks like leather now" is definitely a big problem when making metal, I've found

Ahem... Living in Los Angeles I can tell you they got it right. So much of the architecture, layout is exactly what I know from Santa Monica, Century City, Hollywood, etc. etc. etc. Except it is all condensed but hey it's a game so it works. Bravo on that front.
Totally. I'm really digging the fact that my area (Venice/MDR) is blown way out of proportion and makes up like 15% of the city area
