I like the displacement work. I recommend you go for mid day and clear blue sky.

That looks dope. Are you planning on creating an actual level with that theme?
-
I saw that film last year, but I'll be damned if I can remember the name.

Everything is juuuuust right.

I might be tempted to create some levels for this, but I have to ask - what are the limitations with Snapmap? how many people do the multiplayer modes support?

That wall vine looks a tad out of place.

Here's an oversimplification on how to build a multiplayer level:
Decide on what theme you want to use. Design the layout with the said theme in mind. Block out the level using simple/crude shapes to test flow and timings. Don't forget about optimization. Add a few theme elements and spend some time working on lighting. Then you'll want to conduct several tests and improve it accordingly to feedback from each session. After you've reached a balanced version, start the art pass. Don't forget about optimization. Remove any unnecessary details. Do more tests and correct any bugs or unintended exploits. Release. Profit?

A word of advice for anyone who will have to do a thesis in the future. Do something that's simple, cost efficient and doesn't require much time.
I've got my thesis due in two weeks for a BA in photography/video and I thought it would be a great idea to stick out from the crowd and do five 1m x 1m photorealistic charcoal drawings using the five chinese elements as a theme. It was going fairly well in the beginning. I kept working on the first drawing and working on it and working it and working on it... - and that's pretty much what I did for a month, while telling myself I have enough time to do the other four as well. I had some serious tunnel vision, but reality finally hit me several days ago.
So now I've got to come up with a new art project that I can do in two weeks and keep the theme of the five chinese elements. At least I can't complain that there's not enough excitement in my life

Update1* "just make them significantly smaller, stupid"

Update2* Still not enough time. Shit.
01.07.2016
Update3* I pulled through against the odds. It wasn't exactly quality work, but it was alright.

If you don't enjoy working on it anymore then move on. I've ditched several levels because I just simply wasn't getting anywhere with them; it felt like a chore working on them. Sure, it's important to get your work out there and have people play your levels, but I think it's more important to test out ideas and keep working until you've got something that stands out.

Have you had a chance to work on the new version? I'm really curious to see if you've managed to improve it.
