One of the best settings! I collected a good amount of reference myself for a Cornwall map setting.
Why not calling it more appropriately de_cornish?

Got such a deja-vu seeing this coming up on my YT, i feel like they already did this video and that has been sitting in my watch later for ages… it must be hard to track so much info.
Haven’t played much COD at all after the original MW. I hope that by revisiting old ideas they can inject them with new life, look at them from a different angle.
I wonder if they are making the game looking at it as an anthology, and take some missions from the sequels.
Anyway dat warthog flyby scene seems to be/should be “The Bog” mission.
Thank you all guys ? hopefully they release her from hospital today as well.
@[HP] handsome rascal you have there! Play date? ?
Oh yesss! Seen the trailer the other day from the newsletter. That cel-shading is so damn crisp!
im not a big fan of procedural games, because of time more than anything, but this looks very interesting
Interesting project!
I can see the aspects of the geometry you are emphasising and curious to see when everything is skinned and properly lit.
I am a bit skeptical of the railings which I think make the environment veer toward the “generic Unreal env”. As it is it makes me think more of Unreal 2/UT3 than Quake.
Curious to see the evolution!
Sick trailer but… is this a reboot of the original MW? Remake? Same conflict shown from a different angle?
Some stuff looks a bit clunky and just not running at proper framerate. That scene where Porter is chased by those guys in azmat was some sort of Benny Hill sketch.
I’m happy I guessed right about the mechanic of the non-game over state… seems a bit of a cheap way to infuse some action in the game imo.
PS: terrible choice of music for this trailer as far as I’m concerned
Quote from dux22 hours ago, dux said: He's not directing it and has little time for it in the grand scheme of things as he's too busy with blue alien cats.
Not that Cameron on the chair would mean a good movie, looking at that blue people stuff… if there was someone id have filming a new Terminator, I would want to have Neill Blomkamp.
For me was more the idea they got Linda back to give me some reassurance ![]()
I would suggest you not only look at photos of real locations, but maybe try to “copy” locations from other games set in the same theme. Say COD has some Middle Eastern locations. That’s because real locations will have loads of stuff you would need to custom model, and replacing with custom assets might make it ugly in your eyes, no matter what.
Another thing could be instead of going about to detail the whole map, pick one hero location you can see in your mind very well, say a bomb site or spawn (because they are probably more confined) and fully detail it. Make it a map of its own even, put spawns inside or just outside it so that you immediately see your work when you run it (rather than walking through lots of greybox).
I think you need to sift through your reference material to spot the main features of the location you are building, say a ramp and a tower, and work around those. Pick up on the details and patterns that create a location.
Last but not least, lighting does A LOT so you need to read up on how to properly light your map, and be patient trying different settings
I mean, not that EA is lacking money... they could invest in outsourcing content. Cosmetics don't need to be developed in-house, and they could contract 3 (Chinese ?) studios to provide a constant stream of content, according to a set timeline of updates managed by Respawn...
Looks like GOG's Galaxy 2.0 is built to support games from different platforms and libraries into one, you can sign up for the beta.
not sure to understand what's the reason to add a game from a console platform, maybe is just for achievements.
I imagine you still have to launch Platform-X to update your games (they mention updates only when explicitly referring to GOG), so not sure on the benefits of using a third party launcher.
I can see something like this being interesting if was tailored for "big screen mode", so you can have your "console" PC.
Oh wtf is this
although when you get the director of Crappool can't expect much else.
Finally watched Endgame: imo really good, way better than Infinity War… just too much CGI, so too much stuff looks fake where it doesn’t need to be. Like mostly all Thanos-related (like putting the helmet on the sword or the stew pot on the fire, felt like I was watching Shrek). The Hulk was also more cartoony than older iterations.
Anyway could finally watch the spoilery most recent Spider-Man trailer
I don’t see how they could end such a show in a satisfactory way, unless they ended on a massive cliffhanger. I don’t see a way that would have made all fans happy. I’m also convinced that with Martin still writing the books, he had to keep the ideal ending for himself*.
I dunno, I don’t feel I was that into this season, I think I checked out in S7, in which I already stopped being really emotionally involved. This way I only watched for the spectacle, of which there was plenty.
There are so many dumb things that went on, like how they decided for the new king ? but overall if not happy I’m at peace. I could never like Jon as much as others, he was a very passive hero in my eyes, so his ending seems fitting.
Spoiler It actually wraps back to where it started so GG.
These aspects sort of trample the cringe of the politically correct content.
*Arghable, since nowhere near as many people will read the books as viewers, but still probably the best marketing move for him.
Haven’t got through it all… I’m up to the #5.
I LOVED the “Suits” episode, great style but most of all it represents very much a game concept I outlined a couple years ago.
I also liked The Witness, it does somehow ring a bell, I think this concept was sort of created before. But cool nonetheless.
One must wonder if they over did it… this year Avalanche released 3 titles. It’s a lot.
