I think i'm buying it and giving most of the money to Snapshot that intrigues me. OSTs are intersting.

About "Indie Game", I enjoyed that movie, like, it's always intersting the "behind the scenes". Then yeah, you cannot listen to most of these guys when they talk about business. I can feel empathy with McMillen (Meat Boy designer) but I cannot stand phrases like Tommy's (the programmer) "[speaking of COD] I don't care because those games are shit!"... are you really so self-absorbed to think that who plays Meat Boy doesn't play AAA titles?

I participated in the Global Game Jam in 2011 and it was really annoying to overhear a few comments that my team's game won the jury award because there were MS PRs in there and we employed XNA. Also annoying and shortsghted when months later we attended another event were investors were invited, willingly to spend their money if they saw something of their liking... and then a douche takes the stage for his pitch and starts pissing in their mouths saying "i'm an indie i'm not hear for the money", like if we are dirt that we wanted to try launching a startup and begin to build something in this video game developers deserted land that Italy is.

When my nose gets clogged, I boil a pot of water and then stick my face on top of it with a towel on covering everything up. Like being in a sauna.

Breathe enough steam and you should start to unclog.

Do that couple times a day and you should get better

There are times when i feel it coming I wear a cap or band to get my forehead warm and limit the damage.

To me the whole war thing is retarded. Millions die each year of heartdisease and only a 100 of terrorist attacks or something. Yet they spend way more money on terrorism, trying to surveillance whole america.

And what about that Minority Report-like tv-show that seems to aim to educate people to feel safer when surveilled upon?

Edit: this one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1839578/ (haven't checked it, the trailer made me barf enough)

"The site says players will be able to pilot various ships, and it’s large and ambitious in scope, and “plays like privateer/freelancer,” and contains “a vast and open-world where you choose your own adventure.”"

Dunno why this wans't reported when that meeting made the headlines, i did read only about Source 2 and the bite they slipped about HL3.

Btw I dunno, I wouldn't trust too much Gabe's words, i mean, look at the context. And look at the dates of postings, exactly one month after the "leak" about the space game, they say it got cancelled (apparently since long time)... that looks just deception to me.

Also: Source engine doesn't look to have the means to make that kind of game right now, so it could just be on the shelf, waiting for better times... "accidentally" they are just making a new engine

Let's hope everything turns out for the best, it would be a shame with all that talent... and they have a very good lineup for next-year!

    Guess this is positive:

THQ noted that it "does not intend to reduce its workforce as a result of the filing, and employees will continue to work their usual schedules and receive normal compensation and benefits, pending customary Court approval."

valve + space game would have been amazing...

    Wut?

I remember several concept art was released by a fan who got to Valve offices like 1-2 years ago, but don't remember any of this. And btw since they never announced anything like that I wouldn't consider it canned. Unless you are speaking of something else.

I've got a thing for terrible movie and boy, this doesn't probably even deserve the average on IMDB.

terrible acting and unfortunately the action isn't on par with things like District 13, and they try to cover it up with confusing camera angles and camera shakes.

how can you possibly link this to the failings of the american educational system?

So what it is in your opinion?

Great quote from Mr. Freeman, thanks for sharing.

I couldn't make stone look as white as it was in the concept art, and there isn't much color in the building its just browns and grays. other then a couple of red spots.

(I'm stranger to modeling) Is that because of the texture, rendering or other stuff?

For the color, seems to me that the concept art hue is generally shifting to the reds while your is more neutral. Then yes, the roof contrasts quite a bit in the concept.

    Still the crossing :

I love this project. Too bad it was canceled.

Thanks for posting all that material, there were several shots new to me.

Anyone thinking the project could be resurrected since the success of Dishonored? Even if not in that particular gameplay form (btw most of the doubts were about the matchmaking and responsiveness of the game, stuff that nobody would probably worry now).

I don't remember if Smith or Colantonio recently said Dishonored was kinda thought as a one-off game.

that whole arkane studios thing kind of reminded me of LMNO. shame that got cancelled too

I just found an article about it couple days ago, still in the reading list (5 p.!)

My post was about mental illness, not american gun laws.

Yes, but it seems the social side of the story is overlooked: blaming the illness is conceding to one self responsabilities. We have psychiatric cases in Europe too (actually I do service in a psychiatric clinic where the patients work in a protected environment) and when was the last time you heard about a shooting or even a beating, in schools: i don't remember any.

i think it's more accurate to say that genetic disposition has a big hand in how those things are processed and dealt with on an individual basis.

And was also genetic disposition to put a gun in the hands of the guy?

When I saw the sketch-over in the previous pages I thought you were going to cover the exit with the archway, making it play a bit like the bridge in Dust (in the old setup).

You are making me cry, this stuff is so good!

    Quote from kikette

Eh eh ! You are completly right. And this is funny point because when you are a little beginner, you always think that stuff you add isn't enough visible and you try to make it more evident. At least, you obtain something without any point of interest ^^

Amen to that, it is so true... that was the constant thought when I was trying to cobble together my own textures in the ol' HL1 days.

Not sure why you'd need a PC next to your TV though.

You don't want your "work" PC next to the TV, you want an entertainment device ("that doesn't suck") next to your TV

It is ages i'm waiting for Valve to come out and say the've struck deals with content providers to distribute tv-shows, movies and music.

I did finally tried Steam Big Picture this last weekend and I too think it's pretty good, but not yet as perfect and intuitive as it needs.

OT: when I tried to launch CS:GO from there i got a neverending "launching game" message (since I thought it was authenticating the game I left it there the whole night - then I killed Steam and launched the game from classic view just fine).

Anyone else experiencing this kind of problem? (on OSX Lion)

What I was most pleased with this trailer is that it suggests the adventure to be spanning through years (shot in which Joel has a whitened beard).

    Amen.

The only thing, in these last years, that when I'm watching a movie in which he's acting, at somepoint my mind goes to the Scientology thing and loose the immersion.
