now museum will be on the number 1 american server
FUNIs it on the Workshop? I've downloaded RickD map but wasn't able to play, one server had it but not sure if was an earlier beta because it started downloading and then threw me back to main menu.
OT: actually is something it does on any custom map, I try to join the server, i'm displayed it's being downloaded... when it reaches 100% I get an error message :-|

This is why I rarely buy games before release unless it's pretty much guaranteed to be awesome (Valve games, GTA, Battlefield etc...)
Same here.
I feel like being polemic and say that last GTA was something not to preorder... I did, and by the time i got it, my PC was trashed (for its own reasons), but the game was unplayable on any average PC around and not easy on top-of-the-line anyway. I later played it on the Xbox and I was pretty much disappointed, I did convinced myself from the trailers that the game was more mature and dark than previous titles (Vice City is still one of my all time fav) when it wasn't. On top of that the story was simply disappointing and I find they totally missed the delivery of the final act, since you get to kill a guy that they don't drive you to hate during narration... hell, he's hardly around anytime during the events!

I am curious to play it.
Where was supposed to be the pit?

Doesn't seem to be much space for Android in Valve's plans right now
maybe the relationship with Canonical is growing so fast they'll support the Ubuntu (Phone)? As of hardware seems strange, they are (were?) working on VR, they let us understand they are working on input devices... and i think Gabe was referring to that in his talk, when he explained why game streaming will not become mass market.
Sticking to the topic, I am a bit disappointed about the talks (really enjoyed
btw), from your previous posts I gather in his individual speech Gabe summed up what he said in the hour-long talk, he basically lays out how Valve sees the market coming about in the next couple of years (Steambox, S.A.A.S.). This ties in the bit someone pointed out regarding productivity software and games: what could have seem an argument about "gamification", I read it as "SAAS + community contribution"; not clear at all how they think it could work, but it seems related to content creation – an invite to make the Photoshops and Mayas free (with revenue share about what you produce with it? Like the next evolution for the deal they had for XSI).From the joint talk with JJ seems to me they have clear plans for an IP produced by JJ (tie-in with a TV-show like Defiance?) while movies about Valve's IPs is just smoke. (And personally I dunno what I could expect from an HL tie-in, even less from Portal – frankly i'd hate to see Gordon acquire the gift of voice.)External Content www.youtube.comContent embedded from external sources will not be displayed without your consent.Through the activation of external content, you agree that personal data may be transferred to third party platforms. You thought that Aureasection (from Naumachia and The Specialists Mod fame) were dead? Think again

My friends Filippo and Lorenzo are coming out with a new game: Dominatron, and now that they are going live with news and an open beta, I am in liberty to spread what they've been developing under the radar in these last many months.
Dominatron is a minimalistic multiplayer arena game were your team fights to control over a "board" of resource nodes that grants points, hence respawns. Individual points allow for upgrading to different fighters and skills.
Here's a gameplay clip from their channel:

Yep, I was tempted to hint about this on the "games that will never see the light of day" topic months back

It's also obvious to me now why De_ type maps are more popular, hostages are a very clunky mechanic at times
Yeah, i don't remember if cs_ maps are even considered in ladder/tournaments; I remember that back when I had a clan (CS:S) we had a few clan-matches on hostages maps, but just to see how those would play.
Personally I love cs_ maps, or at least I can hang around Office and Italy for hours straight... but they rarely end up in a win by rescue.
Btw curious to see what you are cooking up! (I remember you started that topic about the museum-themed map - and it was looking gorgeous)

I haven't played much GO (and when I did was on the new game modes) so maybe Hostages aren't as acrobatic as in the past, but I'd instead see if it's possible to prevent to fall in the pit, I'd be pissed off to see them die and loose points because of the poor AI navigation they're known for. If the pit is along one of the main rescue routes that will influence a lot its use... I don't remember any official map where's possible to get killed by the environment.
But that I say without having any idea of what you are doing.

There are a lot of templates designed for showcase for WP, installing one will help you achieve what Generalvivi has described

I think it's impressive, but i'm arguing with guys over the italian forum i moderate: I think that after all the talking they've made about the new engine a lot of people will be disappointed... happy to be contradicted of course

If I had to make a shortlist of all time favourites, I'd go with
The Dark Knight
Platoon
Blade Runner
Fight Club
One Flew Over The Cockoo's Nest
Se7en
If you like gangster movies i'd also suggest to see the Italian Romanzo Criminale ("Crime Novel").
Quote from MinosDon't update this very often but you can see some of my favourite here: http://www.imdb.com/...ist?votehistory
I'm brought to mine, btw if it can be of interest, I do instead update my IMDB lists regularly so you'll find almost all the movies i've watched since 2008.
Here's the list: http://www.imdb.com/...2753425/ratings
Don't be scared, I started voting also the single tv-series episodes; I also do watch a lot of terrible movies on purpose.

Savages
For some reason I expected it to be much more action and a very silly movie from the trailer
instead I'd compliment Mr. Stone for pulling it off, imo. I see in this thing quite some Tarantino. Benicio Del Toro is always a pleasure to see when on screen.External Content www.youtube.comContent embedded from external sources will not be displayed without your consent.Through the activation of external content, you agree that personal data may be transferred to third party platforms. Act Of Valor
I'm impressed that soldiers can act, I'd say they are even better than the low soap-opera actors we have in Italy

Also I did expected a much worse movie overall, if they wanted, they could have pulled out a better narration.
I would like to think the movie is worth keeping stashed for reference, but i don't think it is.

Total Recall (2012)
Action movie with sci-fi elements? Can't say i dislike it, but seems they aimed for the minimum necessary to satisfy a checklist. The most intersting thing is the art/design, except for the cars which I totally dislike; also they really went overboard with the screen-time for car and elevator chase.
The runaway scene on the rooftops, when they use the camera from the side, made me think to the Scarecrow section in Batman AA.
